The funny thing is, the original six are pictured but you could put in the other two: Adam could be the guy pointing, Pants could be the skinny gumdrop head guy and the one of the far right could be Puppet Rios. lol

Loved the pacing, they gave the characters and actors room to breathe (totally agree with you guys on the snappy dialogue, that was a highlight of the film for me), which made the action scenes have that much more punch when they came around. Loved Rockwell's performance, that was a huge surprise for me. I'm not too familiar with Hammer in the comics, but I liked this "stuck in Tony's shadow/wants to be Tony" approach that they took.
Favreau has mentioned that he thinks he'd do Mandarin for a third film, which I hope he follows through on because I think they need to move away from armored villains now. BTW did anyone else think that the guy who gave Whiplash his forged documents was an agent of the Mandarin?
Already planning on seeing it again this weekend with some friends who couldn't make it last week. Two big thumbs up

Gallagher is a performance comedian who smashed watermelons (and other stuff) at the end of his act onto the audience:

Had the optimal seat in a very empty theater for a matinée.
It felt like my very own private showing... and I couldn't be happier!
(The ScarJo induced boneage would have been mucho embarrassing in a crowd.)
Heh.

Mickey Rourke and Scarlett Johansen were both wasted (Rourke was underdeveloped, and ScarJo was underused except for that one scene,) the script lacked the intelligence of its predecessor (but not its wit or charm, if that makes sense,) and it just felt sloppy.
I think 3/5 makes sense. It was just half baked, compared to the other one, and I actually don't feel any great need for them to make an Iron Man 3 if the quality is going to drop between sequels this much. More RDJ as Tony Stark is always welcome, but save the next dose of Iron Man action for the Avengers.
Now, on the positive side, it WAS a summer movie done right! I'm going to see it again, because I saw it at midnight and thus was really tired, so it wasn't horrible or anything. I just know that the studio, cast and crew are capable of oh so much more!
Anyone who thinks it is better than the first is WRONG BECAUSE I AM RIGHT!!!!
(Not really.)

Wow. I was surprised to read this and hear one of the geeks echo your sentiments, as well. My moviegoing experience was so much better the first time. I had a smile on my face the whole time for Iron Man 1. This time I was fidgeting the whole time waiting for it to really get started. Of course, I haven't gone back and seen the first one again so maybe it wouldn't hold up as well for the second viewing.
And while I was disappointed with the villains in this one, I was glad they held off on Mandarin. Now when they use him in IM3, the build-up should only have helped.

I liked Sam Rockwell as Justin Hammer. I felt that he was a bit cheesy in parts but I guess that was the point of the role. I don't know. Samuel L. Jackson was.....well Samuel L. Jackson I guess. I liked his part in the movie. He did just enough with the role and was there it seemed to point Tony in the right direction and whatnot. Scarlet Johansson. Not a fan. She's nice to look at but I've never been impressed with her as an actress but I didn't think she brought much to the role. Then when you consider that Emily Blunt could have been the Black Widow, it made me sad:

Overall, I thought the movie was good. I'm listening to Jamie D's opening statements about the movie and I do agree with him. Especially about the villains. It wasn't bad but it could have been much better and I think I liked the first one better. Still, there was more that I liked than I didn't like and it wasn't so much that there weren't things I didn't like but maybe a bit disappointed in certain aspects. Overall, good movie. Not as good as the first one but the last scene after the credits was awesome.

That explains it!!
(sorry, I just had noticed "ten rings agent"[or something like that] in the credits durring the cast list and I thought I had missed some significant scene)
