When do we get the Deadpool Spotlight? lol

Always great to hear from Jason, inparticular on the punisher

Alan Grant not Alan Moore wrote Blood on the Moor. Any time a superhero finds themselves in Scotland, there's a 90% chance Alan Grant wrote it.

The guest's take on authentic tactics and realistic contemporary guns really resonates with me... I really enjoy Gunsmith Cats (which has completely ended now)... I was wondering if anyone had any comics that respect the gun? (not merely as a prop for gore and violence but try to be accurate about the equipment and tactics?)

As long as you can believe Duke Togo is the greatest shot the world has ever known you should be good to go.

As far as fantasy crossovers go Punisher vs. Golgo 13 is up there with Superman/Dragonball.

And you are so right. I corrected myself the next day as I was mowing the lawn! I was like "why did I say that!?!?!?!"

Thanks for noticing that. I love when a tv show/movie use firearms properly. I've never read Gunsmith Cats, after putting it into my google machine, it sounds quite interesting.

Just out of curiosity... where do the John Ostrander penned issues fit into all this? He's my favorite writer and I'm finding his issues tough to find. I think I might have one...but have a bunch of Jim Lee and JRJR ones.

Also.... wtf is up with the love for the Punisher War Zone movie? That was shit covered in shit. Jigsaws makeup was terrible, the writing was terrible and the action was way over the top and gorey.

The first Punisher movie was an amazing modern day western, I doubt we will ever see that again.

Thanks big guy!! Glad you had fun with the ep. I'd offer my services to do another ep but sadly, I have not else to talk about.

Ostrander wrote vol 3 which was the ponytail wearing Punisher that was the head of the mafia family. It was pretty bad, nothing good came from the series.

I was in 6th grade when the Punnisher came out and I only collected GI Joe off the spinner racks at the market. I met a friend at school who was really into comics and he took me to a coin collecting shop that sold comics on the side (not to mention bags and boards). The 80's were kind of bleak time and crime and drugs seemed everywhere. The Punnisher was a perfect hero for me at the time when it seemed like no one was out there watching my back. I sold my issues in the early 90's and I am currently working on buying them back to have them bound. Frank Castle (Jason) did a fantastic job on the podcast but I we have to have a Jamie's Essentials with Jason to go more in depth on the stories especially the mini-series. I would be there in a second to lend my voice since this series is near and dear to my heart. Great job guys!

the Punisher War Zone Movie was as close to a Punisher movie as you could really get. Frank wouldn't use a Fire Hydrant to get Saint to kill his wife or an earring to kill Glass. He would just do it himself. Punisher (2004) was more a Batman movie with a skull on his chest. The make up on Jigsaw was done IMO the way it should been over the top for an over the top character.

Why you keep knocking this series! Sure it was a horrible read but Tom Lyle's art wasn't that bad!

Jason you did a GREAT JOB! If anyone wants Jason to do one of their podcasts about Punisher and may want a second voice I would love to offer my services. Jason can vouch for me. Also for all you aspiring Punisher fans out there make sure to come hang out with more punisher fans at the globalpunisherarmy.com

I'm really excited to listen to this episode. In fact, of all 867 episodes, I'm the most excited for this one. Punisher is the only comic that I got mailed to me by Marvel Subscriptions in that little polybag. All 104 issues. VERY pumped for some ass-kickery talk. I hope there is some talk of Frank before he got his own series - those were great appearances.

My parents got me the poly bag subscriptions for 2 years, it was so much fun get a comic in the mailbox. Looking back on it now, I think they were spending like 12-13 bucks a year for a yrly subscription.
