Sound to me like things are in pretty good hands. thumbsup_anim.gif I'm especially excited about Johns' new role! I repeat, GOOD HANDS.

One thing for sure, that'll put to rest fears people had of putting an outsider or unknown suit in the positions.

Agreed. I think the biggest mistake would have been an unknown suit who had no respect for the source material coming in and doing whatever they wanted. Johns has demonstrated time and again that he has that respect and Didio has proven that DC has a willingness to experiment with things (though not always successful) I do not mind the occasional stumble compared with the great successes that they've had.

All in all, this is pretty great news.
Hmmmm.... another forum eh? I'm a DC fan, I'm used to reboots. :D

Wow...pretty interesting developments.

Shows you how much public perception doesn't match reality when it comes to some things.

I will say that history tells me Co-Publishers don't stay that way for long. Be interesting to see how they divvy up their responsibilities.

Best thing about this is maybe DiDio will stop writing Outsiders. Worst thing is the chances of Jim Lee ever doing monthly interiors again is officially dead. Nice for Johns though!
We have little room for error, let alone mice

Inmates with fingers or history in many pies: Jim Lee (video games), Didio (TV), Johns (movies, TV). And reading the bios on the other heads, things like marketing, family programming, merchandise, etc.

Looks like whoever picked Jim Lee was half-right. I saw his name batted around many times along with Didio and Johns.

Could Bendis be next at Marvel?

Well said. I think this is a win-win for everyone. Especially fans.

Maybe Johns can bring some of that Blade The Series magic to DC's TV properties smile.gif

The second thing I said to Diane was, “Um, what about writing? I love writing. I can’t stop writing!” Diane smiled and said, “…writing’s part of the job!” Right away, I knew I was in. This was a dream come true.

...Under the leadership of Jim and Dan, I’ll continue writing and giving my creative input as I have been in comic books. But expanding onto that, Diane’s asked me to take our comic book world, embrace it (as I do) and use it to lead the creative charge on bringing it all to film, toys, television, video games, animation and beyond. The Justice Society appearing on Smallville was only the beginning.

This has me more excited than I've been in quite some time in case you all can't tell. laughingsmiley.gif laughingsmiley.gif laughingsmiley.gif

Co-Publishers? Reminds me of the last episode of "The Office" where Kathy Bates comes in puts an end to Michael and Jim being Co-Managers because they were two guys doing a one person job.

Is this really a job Lee or DiDio couldn't handle buy himself? Seems a little odd and doesn't put out a clear message in terms of who is really in charge.

It's an east coast / west coast thing. One handling publishing content, etc - the other handling properties in other media. Something Paul Levitz had to do on his own I'd imagine. Just speculating, but that's where I would put them if I was in charge.

Whoa! Huge news, indeed. I'm glad they've locked in Geoff Johns -- that is the best news of all.

If this means that DiDo has LESS creative control of things and Johns has MORE, then I am happy. DC's successes have been more due to Johns than to DiDio IMHO

Agreed, DiDio's writing sucks!

Very interesting. And good for everyone involved. I have to ask this, though. Is this that big a shake-up? It seems like these people were already highly involved. They just got promoted.
