I am calling it here. Desmond will be in both realities and Jake in the new one is slowly going to start to put things together with Desmonds help. Back where the smoke monster is Lock a the end of the season he is about to win in the final battle ... flash to the new reality Jack is in surgery trying to give Lock his legs back ... Desmond tells Jack that he needs to either kill or not save Lock in surgery. In the end Lock dies on the surgery table at the hands of Jack and also dies on the island at the hands of Jack.

FYI - I posted this over at jayandjack.com (a LOST podcast), as Matt's Crazy Theory about LOST.

After a hefty dose of religion, I promise the science will come.

After the first two episodes, I'm more convinced then ever that the island is Bozrah. Go read this:
http://www.ageofreturn.org/exile.html
Much of this can also be found here:
http://endtimepilgrim.org/Micah2.htm
including this passage:
The patriach Isaac blessed wild man Esau with a "left-over" blessing. That blessing clearly stated that Esau would eventually rise up against his nurturing brother Jacob and assume dominion over him for a time. This is an untold part of the end-time drama.

When reading this, consider Jacob's assertion that 'it only ends once, everything else is just progress.' It certainly seems like armageddon talk.

Claire and Aaron also seem to figure prominently in the Bozrah prediction if you consider this:
http://endtimepilgrim.org/bozflight.htm
Claire has been 'missing' for about 3 years now, she should be showing up any day now. It seems as though she is the woman taking flight and Aaron is the Messiah.

Here's where the science comes in - we're talking quantum realities.

When the bomb exploded, two things happened:

1. The people on the island were blown back to their reality where the plane did crash. After all, this reality must still exist if they were going to go back in time from there. This isn't Back to the Future where they all start disappearing, it's more of a giant reset button where they are returned back to the present of their timelines. Claire is still hidden, Aaron is off island. This is the timeline for the entire show that we've seen.

2. A new timeline was created going forward from the bomb blast. This is the one we are witnessing off island. Claire is on the plane and Aaron hasn't been born yet. The island is under water and Jacob and MIB's fate is undetermined.

The question is - where do we go from here? Based on the recent 'LOST inkblots', I think we're heading towards two diverging timelines (and realities). In one, we get redemption and see Aaron as the savior. In the other, the world ends. I believe the quantum divergence will be brought about so that BOTH may occur, bringing peace to the eons of struggle.

There's even crazier speculation I could make. They're practically slapping us in the face with Christian Shephard is Christ. Also, did you know Jacob's youngest son was Benjamin? Jacob's wife, Rachel died during that childbirth just like Ben's mother.

Furthermore, I could speculate that Jacob is the evil one and Esau is righteous. In reading Jacob's wikipedia entry
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacob
it seems as though Jacob is more tricky than righteous and that perhaps Esau is in the right.

Christian Shephard.

I think its all in his name. Pretty heavy-handed clue there.
Jack's dad is going to be the spirit (force?) that in the end will save all of the castaways from themselves and the forces of the island
(and Doctor Doom).

Agreed. Christian is a key. The fact that the coffin disappeared off the plane is huge (along with Desmond). It makes me think the coffin transferred from this timeline to the original timeline that we have been watching all along.

And the more I think about it.. if the MIB is now Fake Locke.. and there is a Locke body on the beach.... then I'm not sure Jacob is in Sayid.. as there isn't another Sayid body lying around.. or is there? Just asking.

Professor Hubert Farnsworth: Isn't is obvious?

along with Dawn Wells.. wink.gif

But seriously, one thing is bugging me right now.

The good v. evil, light v. dark thing.. we know Jacob v. Smokey.. but we really don't know which side either of them is on. I mean intrinsically we don't know who is good and who is evil in that relationship, at least by our motivations. Sure Smokey killed Jacob's bodyguards but only after they shot at him. By contrast, Jacob's interference with Sayid caused Nadia's death, and he easily could have stopped Locke's father from pushing him out of a window.

The others used brainwashing techniques to get people to believe in Jacob.. is that something a "good god" would do? And isn't it tradition that most gods be feared and awesome.. much like Old Testament, Zeus, Odin..

I am just not sure who is wearing the white hats and who isn't here... so I'm expecting a twist where Jacob is the bad guy and Smokey is the good. You know, like The Spectre... heh.

This is a UK-based site with some nice video, commentary, interviews, & theories.

Isn't that essentially what every religion does?

Absolutely. Just perhaps not quite so literally. smile.gif

It still doesn't mean Jacob or Flocke is definitively the "good" or "bad" guy yet.. and I'm enjoying not being able to pick out the villain quite yet.

I think the key is what Jacob says last season

"It only ends once, everything else is just progress".

In various interviews, it has been mentioned that Stephen King is a huge fan. His Dark Tower series ends up becoming a big time loop with only one difference. Roland has the Horn of Eld.

Perhaps these characters are set on a single path that keeps recurring until their ultimate goal is fulfilled. So, maybe we will know where they need to get to by the show's end, but won't actually get to see the real ending because it won't happen until the next pass.

We've seen Jacob directly manipulate these people (or at least visit them) at key moments of their life. He's guiding them towards something. I don't think it's the alternate timeline, but I do hope the timelines do not converge. I like various quantum realities too much (go read "Yellow Blue Tibia").

And, if the Pimp is correct and the Black Rock was an Eqytian slave ship, then Richard could be Joseph. I don't see how that could be, but with all the Old Testament patriarchs being mentioned I thought I would throw that in.

I can't agree with that. I agree that Jacob has done his share of underhanded deals. And, not just to his brother. He cheats his Father-in-Law out of most of his flock and then runs off. However, Esau essentially craps on his birthright by selling it to Jacob for a bowl of soup. In that culture the birthright is the thing and Esau dissrespected it.

It isn't something a good god would do, it is something religion would do.

Sports commentator AL TRAUTWIG has been doing some nice video commentaries on LOST for the past few seasons. Here are his theories on "LA X" parts 1 & 2.

I totally knew that this was how they were going to handle the "flashbacks/flashforwards/etc" in this season.

And I also totally twisted my arm patting myself on the back. crying.gif

For people who have watched FIVE seasons and still don't get timelines... READ SOME COMICS!!!

And I can feel your Jack hate. My wife and I hate him too. We didn't start out that way, but it's come to that. Kate too. Jack and Kate can be hog-tied and sacrificed to the four toed statue and we'd cheer. thumbsup_anim.gif
