i get the feeling that as soon as you make the episode available for iTunes, and it shows up on their feed, it still takes a moment or two (like a half hour) for the episode to be available to download... or maybe it has something to do with the libsyn.com site as well. No doubt having all three programs, software or sites work together can feel like a minor miracle every day.

Can't wait to listen to Julian and the CGS boys, you guys make the day go so much better.

Get Peter David for an Aquaman series writer & Julian the next Brave & Bold issue #32 in March has Aquaman in it written by JMS & art by Jesus Saiz.

Steve Jobs can retire when he makes the iPad a perfect comics reader where I can download & read my comics for a $1.50 an issue every Wednesday & backup the issues on my computer so that I OWN THEM none of this Kindle we delete it later bullshit.

Flash Re (Late) Birth #6 is slated for February 24th as of today (11 months after the 1st issue was shipped).

Damn, the news about Greta is a downer. I don't do the Facebook thing, so this is news to me.
I've always been a dog kinda guy, so I know how they become part of the family.
To tell you the truth, I prefer the company of a dog over most people.
Now it makes me happy I was able to work the dogs into a Freking Sweer strip.

BTW: That "Greta Baby" thing was in Vince's Candyman riff done for Bryan's birthday.

I'll continue to listen for Julian . . . BLAM!

Very sorry to hear about Greta.
Having just had to have Ben put to sleep in similar circumstances I know how hard it is to lose a friend.

You said ass van. Hehe.

Sorry to hear 'bout the dog. I've had to put down 2 dogs and about 6 cats and it never gets any easier.

Good hearing Julian.

After seeing my father die very young, when he had grand plans for his eventual retirement, I've vowed to retire as early as it's financially feasible. I'll continue to keep myself busy doing the goofy things I do, I just won't be doing it for The Man.

To lose a friend that loves unconditional is so tough. Sorry for your loss, that is a hard decision to make, but IMHO it is the right one. Being a adult ain't always "ghit and siggles"

Why Julian doesn't have his own podcast is a mystery to me.

Great episode so far, guys.

There should be a comic called "The Illest Ice Cream Sundae"

There should also be a comic called "Ninja Magic".

Julian is like a one-man focus group.

Glad to hear Jamie's love of Invincible Iron Man. That book has been fantastic. And, as much as I liked Stark Disassembled, I think the prior, long arc, I think it was called Most Wanted, was even better. I would say Marvel's best superhero book right now.

First Uncle Sale (I was freakin' crying, listening to that one) and now Julian. This is a great week here at the CGS compound.

Ninja Magic - priceless. I love listening to Julian riff about comics.

Talking about the arcade. That really took me back. Growing up, we would always head to the arcade in the local bowling alley every weekend. Play video games during the day, go to the movies on Friday and/or Saturday night, then hit the arcade again after the show. I was always more into the "space" games:

Zaxxon was a favorite

So was Galaga.

It was a toss up between me and a buddy of mine who was the best. He had the high score, but I'd made it through more levels. So it all depended on your perspective.

But the best video game experience for me was an afternoon of Gauntlet with my friends.

Growing up on the US-Canada border, we were well aware of the difference between Canadian and American money - our US currency was valued quite a bit higher than Canada's at the time, and all currency (except pennies) was subject to the exchange rate. And you couldn't even use Canadian quarters in vending machines, because they could adjust the weighting to not allow Canadian coins.

BUT, the owners of the arcade didn't want to cut themselves off from the Canadian kids, so they didn't adjust their machines, which meant you could use Canadian coins at par in the video games. So, my buddies and I planned on a huge Gauntlet experience and exchanged $10 each at the bank for Canadian quarters, which came to something between 13-14 bucks of quarters. And that Saturday we all headed down to the arcade to play Gauntlet. We were there for a few hours, working with each other in order to get as far as we could. We made it through dozens of levels, but never did find out if there was an end to it all or not. It just continued to get harder and harder as we rose through the levels. Great times, and great memories. Thanks guys.

And, as a short aside. I picked up the recent "Stark Disassembled" Iron Man issues as well. Being a fan of Matt Fraction and wanting to get into Siege, I thought it would be good. And, I have to say, IMO, that it did nothing for me. I won't be getting any more of the issues and I know I won't miss it. I can't really pinpoint it, except that it felt like it was just dragging on and on, and the art from Larocca was unimpressive. I love Fraction on his indy stuff, but this one, I gotta give a pass.

That said, I do need to thank Jamie D. for mentioning in a recent episode that he was enjoying JMS on The Brave and the Bold. I picked up a couple of the issues on his recommendation, and they are phenomenal. Done in one stories that are heartfelt stories and give a new perspective on old characters, and are really fun comics. This is what great superhero comics are for me. And the art is top-notch from Jesus Saiz. I just read the Green Lantern/Dr. Fate one tonight, and it almost had me in tears. It was such an amazing story about two friends (Hal and Kent Nelson) and it gave us a new, but obvious, look at the connection between these two characters (similar to what Kurt Busiek did with JLA/Avengers) that elevated it beyond normal comics, and even beyond really, really good superhero comics. This book is the standard bearer right now - for me - of superhero comics. Love this book! Thank you Jamie D.

I dig his cadence (the way he speaks) when he comes on. Seriously, he must be a regular.

edit:
also, when a cat uses the phrase "tango and cash" in his strip... more genius than e=mc2.. I laughed out that, man...

Julian's right ... man I am glad I am old enough to know what it's like to go to the arcades. Marvel vs Capcom in 1998 before home consoles took over ... it was just cool. I mean I have two systems at home, have friends come over and I know you can play online ... but it's not the same as when "everyone" had to go to the arcade to play the latest games.

Calling out Whales!!!
