Let’s get this ball rollin’!

Batman: Streets of Gotham #8 – I’m not familiar with this guest writer, but I’m pretty impressed with the story he’s telling so far. Interesting to see Dick do a little undercover work of his own in the seediest of sex clubs for millionaires. But will he catch the killer responsible for the deaths of crooks? Probably, seeing how he’s Batman.

Blackest Night: The Flash #2 – Cool to see Barry kicking ass with a blue ring, while at the same time the Rogues are going to war in Iron Heights against their dead teammates. Captain Cold continues to show us how much of a badass he is in this issue, showing love for his sister for just a split second before destroying her. The art is amazing (Kolins! *swoons*), but my only complaint is look at the lantern logo in Barry’s text box: it’s Sinestro Corps, not a blue lantern one! Oops, someone at DC was sleeping on the job!

Blackest Night: The Phantom Stranger #42 – While it was cool to see the Phantom Stranger save the body and spirit of Boston Brand, I was kind of hoping for more in this issue.

Blackest Night: Starman #81 – Very good issue! We get to see Shade and David battle it out in Opal City, and it was nice to see a lot of the familiar faces (Hope & her family). Of all the resurrected series that have debuted during Blackest Night, this has to be my favorite so far.

Black Widow & The Marvel Girls #3 – ‘meh’.

Brave and the Bold #31 – It was…interesting. JMS takes us back to the Joker’s childhood and shows that he’s been psycho ever since birth, while at the same time showing scenes from The Dark Knight happen in his brain. I prefer the Joker origin of the Red Hood, and becoming genuinely insane after falling into chemicals. The Atom could have, and should have let him die. This issue wasn’t one of JMS’ best.

Dark Wolverine #82 – Okay, so while I was just starting to get tired with the whole holier-than-thou act from Daken, Daniel Way pulls a fast one on me and has him literally stab Norman in the back. An action this big should NOT be tossed aside in the main SIEGE event! Seriously, I didn’t see that coming.

Dark Avengers #13 – Another Sentry story, with the same results; Bob freaking out and flying off into space. Could someone please tell me how this is supposed to be a SIEGE tie-in? Because it’s not. It’s just a waste of time and paper.

Deadpool: Merc with a Mouth #7 – This issue was pretty painful to read. Even more painful; having to look at Kyle Baker’s art. It was like a blend of bad CGI models rendered in MS Paint. I know Deadpool is suppose to be over the top, but this series is not taking it down the right road. The sensible thing to do is take this series out back and put it out of its misery.

Gravel #16 – Nice little story about Gravel helping a dead soldier find his way to the other side, after taking care of the man who killed him in the first place. Continuing to be one of Avatar’s best series, I really enjoyed this issue.

Green Lantern Corps #44 – Very cool idea to have Mogo purge Oa of everyone, then filter out the Black Lanterns inside himself. It’ll be very interesting to see everyone versus Guy next issue.

Hellblazer #263 – This arc has been very entertaining, and with the addition of Epiphany in this issue, you can feel Constantine resisting the urge of temptation. Can’t wait to see him battle the big Indian demon next issue!

Incorruptible #2 – Max Damage starts his training as a superhero, and so far he’s off to a rocky start. Doesn’t help that everyone is trying to kill him because they think he’s still evil, and having a jailbait partner who isn’t on the same path to redemption yet. If you’ve been enjoying Irredeemable, you’ll be loving Incorruptible equally so.

Incredible Hercules #140 – I must have missed the last issue or something, because I was confused with what was going on. Then again, I’m not the biggest fan of Hercules.

Joe the Barbarian #1 – The new Vertigo series from Grant Morrison and Sean Murphy for only $1 (well, just this first issue anyways). While I wasn’t hooked in this issue, the story reminds me of one of my favorite childhood books; Harold and the Purple Crayon.

Nova #33 – Not really enjoying this current story arc. Reads more like a What If? one-shot rather a Nova story.

Outsiders #26 – Hated the story, loathed the art. Why did they have to replace Tomasi with Didio?!

Power Girl #8 – Delightfully fun issue! Good thinking on PG’s part on getting out of the multiple monster mess, and good for her helping save another alien race by the end of the issue. This issue had lots of great humor, and a lighter, more giggly side to Power Girl we haven’t seen before. Great stuff!

Project Superpowers: Chapter 2 #6 – Waaay too many heroes to try and keep track of! It’s like reading an issue of Justice Society of America on steroids.

RASL #6 – Since this comes out every two months, I don’t bother trying to remember what’s happening story-wise. I just appreciate the fantastic art instead.

Superman / Batman #68 – Interesting issue, beautiful art.

The Mighty Avengers #33 – It was a fun issue. My favorite part had to be Hank psyching-out Norman regarding who has the Cosmic Cube. Absorbing Man battle was cool, and it was fun to see the split-personalities of some of the characters.

The Amazing Spider-Man #618 – While I’m intrigued that the main villain in this arc is Mysterio, I’m a little disappointed he didn’t get the same amount of playing time like the mafia and Mr. Negative got in this issue. Love Marcos Martin’s art, and will definitely stick around for the next issue.

Uncanny X-Men #520 – I don’t like getting teased with a beautiful Dodsons cover, and then opening up the issue to see nothing but Greg Land art. Dick move!

Wolverine: Weapon X #9 – Wasn’t a fan of this Dr. Rot arc. The art was stunning, but the story wasn’t one of my favorites.

More to come! I still have a small stack left.

Air #17 – As if I don’t say it enough, I love the art on this series. M.K. Perker always does such an extraordinary job on art duties, that issue after issue continues to blow me away. The story this time around wasn’t action-packed, but it was very soothing to see Blythe and Zayn back together.

Fables #92 – Very enjoyable issue! Poems, baseball, murder, and Ambrose searches for a queen? I like it, I love it, I want some more of it!

Hulk #19 – Could the Frightful Four stop by my place and distract me from reading this title?

Thunderbolts #140 – Didn’t see that ending coming! I enjoyed this past few issues a lot, and thought the Agents of Atlas and Thunderbolts were evenly matched foes. Can’t wait to see the aftermath next issue!
