Lets get this ball rollin'!

Absolution #6 – I really enjoyed this miniseries. The idea of a vigilante killing those who are absolutely horrible just brings a smile to my face. Yes, police can’t operate outside the law, and because of it pedophiles and rapists continue to walk the streets. Enter a guy like John Dusk who is sick of it, and the public support of his actions goes through the roof. This issue ended beautifully, and I wouldn’t mind seeing another series later down the line.

Action Comics #885 – And to think; all this bloodshed could have been avoided if Nightwing & Flamebird just simply told the Science Police sooner what their mission really was. As for the Captain Atom back-up, I really loved Cafu’s art. We need more Cafu in comics nowadays.

Adventure Comics #6 – Hot damn what a good issue! It shows how evil Luthor really is when he plays God with his own flesh and blood. “Miracles don’t exist, but Lex Luthor does” has to be my favorite line out of this issue. Francis Manupal’s art was fantastic, and the cliffhanger is absolutely mind-blowing! Simply cannot wait for the next issue. Oh, and since Lori is Lex’s niece, that means she and Superboy are related, right? Ewww.

Aliens vs Predator: Three World War #1 – Quite the bloody setup issue. I’ll keep a close eye on this event, because I do rather enjoy seeing Aliens vs Predators vs Humans.

Batgirl #6 – Completely having a love-affair with this series! It’s smart, action-packed, and completely hysterical (all the moments with Batgirl & Robin). Call me stupid, but I just now got the fact that the original Robin and Batgirl have been training their protégés this entire time. I sometimes forget that Dick was the original Robin when Babs was the original Batgirl. Awesome series, I highly recommend it!

Batman: The Widening Gyre #4 – The thing I really enjoy about this series is the story Kevin Smith is telling out of continuity. The new character, Bruce Wayne and Batman’s damsels, and the drama. There aren’t any huge events going down in this series, but numerous personal ones. We see the different side of Bruce Wayne that feels rarely explored because he’s always in the cape and cowl. This miniseries is making Batman feel human, and I really like that.

Batman #695 – It is refreshing to soon learn the real identity of the Black Mask. Also, Riddler getting his memory back? That can’t be good.

Black Widow: Deadly Origin #3 – While the story was okay, I really enjoyed the different art styles throughout the issue. Both art and colors were gorgeous, but not worth the $4 pricetag.

Booster Gold #28 – Always fun seeing Booster playing it up for the media, and I laughed at the Blair Butler reference. This arc with Hank Henshaw looks promising. Blue Beetle back-up looked great, and things look to be getting a little hairy for Jamie & co.

Catwoman #83 – While I’m not entirely up to date with Catwoman’s history, this issue did a good job nonetheless catching me up. I never realized before how much of an impact the original Black Mask had on her life. Nice to see Harley and Ivy in this issue, and a gorgeous Adam Hughes cover to top it all off.

Conan: Weight of the Crown #1 – Darrick Robertson brings us such a fantastic Conan one-shot with this issue. His art definitely fits the brutal nature of Conan, and the story he tells shows that warriors are perhaps not always fit to lead, but to do battle instead. I really liked it, and encourage anyone out there who likes Robertson’s art or Conan to pick it up.

Cyberforce / Hunter-Killer #4 – Rocafort’s beyond gorgeous art continues to rock my socks-off in this issue. Many beautifully drawn fights, with a nice little twist at the end. Waid & Rocafort are an unstoppable team, and I can’t wait for the final issue.

Dark X-Men #3 – I was entertained with the Ares vs X-Man battle, followed with everyone vs X-Man. The art looked great, and that Simone Bianchi cover is fantastic. As for the twist at the end; well played! I’ll stick around for the final issue.

Daytripper #2 – Very nice issue filled with gorgeous art, a well written story, and beautiful colors. Ba & Moon do a fantastic job continuing the story of Bras and giving us more in-depth glimpses of his past. I see very fantastic things coming from this series.

Die Hard: Year One #4 – While this miniseries had its moments, it didn’t blow me away overall. Then again, I’m not much of a diehard fan of the Die Hard franchise. Someone who is would probably have a more enjoyable time with this series. However, the covers by Jock and Dave Johnson were truly awesome.

DMZ #49 – Oh boy, Matty really fucked-up this time. Bad enough that he was losing friends fast, but then to screw-up and accidentally take out a group of civilians? Bad move. Add the fact that Parco’s nuke might have now been destroyed, and the whole DMZ universe has now been flipped upside down! Can’t wait to see the aftermath next issue.

Doctor Who #7 – Interesting issue. I’m sure more will be explained in the next part of the arc, but this issue definitely had its moments; the spider creatures, the new companions in the giant costume closet, etc. Tony Lee obviously loves Doctor Who, so I’ll continue to trust him and follow him into the great unknown.

Green Arrow / Black Canary #28 – Love the art, but I’m getting really sick of the Cupid story.

Invincible Iron Man #22 – Now that Stephen Strange has entered the equation, it’ll now be a matter of time until Tony regains consciousness. I’m loving what Fraction has been doing with this series, and totally recommend it to both new and old readers.

Nation X #2 – Wasn’t fond of any of the stories this time around, but Becky Cloonan’s art on the Gambit one was very pretty to look at.

Power of Shazam #48 – I was hoping this tie-in would knock my socks-off, but it did nothing but disappoint me. Since when do the other Black Lanterns show emotion, and aren’t on the same side? It didn’t make sense, and felt like the writers wanted to do their own thing rather make it a faithful tie-in. Sad Cammy is sad.

Psylocke #3 – Of course, Jinn, the guy on fire, won’t be reasonable and keeps attacking Psylocke even though she’s trying to tell him the guy they’re both looking for is trying to pin them against each other. By all means, Jinn, keep punching at her and don’t listen to reason! Felt like of unneeded fighting in this issue.

Punisher MAX #3 – Cool to see the first confrontation between the Kingpin and the Punisher this issue. While the plan of Fisk as the Kingpin is loosing momentum, Fisk sees it as an opportunity to take the reigns and be the real deal. Meanwhile, the assassin coming to take care of Castle? I thought I heard a rumor somewhere that MAX Bullseye was suppose to make an appearance. Hmm…

Queen Sonja #3 – Girl power to the extreme this issue, as Sonja and her army take back a kingdom once lost to the evilest of men. With the next of kin killed at the end of this issue, it’s easier to see how Sonja is to become Queen soon. Very fun issue.

REBELS #12 – Starro best be watching himself! With LEGION coming closer and closer to finding a permanent solution to Starro, plus gaining Despero as an unlikely ally, pretty soon the chickens are going to come home to roost, and it won’t be pretty! I enjoyed this issue thoroughly.

SWORD #3 – So one extravagant jailbreak later, and now Abigail Brand is looking to reclaim the position of leader at SHIELD, and save Earth from some new alien invaders at the same time. This series isn’t shouting ‘must-read’ to me yet.

Secret Six #17 – Cool to see the Suicide Squad vs Secret Six arc continue! Black Alice getting Nightshade’s ability, the Catman vs Bronze Tiger battle coming to a standstill, and the Black Lanterns coming in the middle to fuck everything up for both sides. I can’t wait a month to see how it all ends! Tell me now, Simone, tell me now!!!

The Shield #5 – I’d rather not say.

Strange #3 – Beauty pageants and deals with the devils? This series is certainly living up to it’s title.

The Marvels Project #5 – Felt like it could have been a Captain America one-shot. Nothing we haven’t seen before.

The Unwritten #9 – So sad to see the children die in the prison fire. All they did was believe in Tommy, and it got them killed. Cool to see Ambrosio back, and it’ll only be a matter of time before he catches up with Tommy and his friends again.

The Amazing Spider-Man #617 – Great character issue with The Rhino. While I’m interested in the new Rhino, the original one has a much sadder story to tell. Spidey possibly working for Frontline again only sweetens the deal, as well as the issue.

The Anchor #4 – Holy cow whatta epic battle this issue! You have Clem going up against this huge demon with hundreds of rows of sharp pointy teeth, and the only way to take it out is from the inside. Gorgeous art, wonderful story, The Anchor is a must-read for 2010.

Titans #21 – Thhhpppb!

Weekly World News #1 – It certainly was interesting! I love the fact that Bat Boy is the star of this comic. It has plenty of funny moments, and stays true to the original tabloid. I’ll definitely pick up the second issue.
