Bryan I got to disagree with you on League Century 1910.

1) there stand alone book called "1910" under the 3 part series title "Century",

2) there releasing ONE a year, its not running late at all!, i think this is the second episode you mentioned it. there doing one a year for different decades in the "Century"

not all the nominations get mentioned, peter only picks out a couple,

Was it deadpool related, because peter didn't mention any of my Deadpool ones

Each CGS host gets a nomination and Peter compiled the listeners' nominations and picked the one with the most votes.

Just wanted to reiterate deadpool's comment and back Murd. As he noted, the League books were always intended to be published annually, giving O'Neill enough time to get the art done. And each chapter, like Essex County, is going to work on its own, the next one taking place sometime in the 1960s, and the final one in 2010 to finish off the "Century."

Good choice, Murd.

To further back up Murd, Diamond categorizes LOEG III CENTURY #1 1910 as a graphic novel.

I just finished listening to the episode (as always, another goody lads) and something struck me...

Bryan waxed poetic about how happy he was the Old Man Logan was actually a story arc within the Wolverine series and that they didn't start a separate series with a #1. What are your feelings that Marvel has started a trend of making the reader buy a separate 1 shot issue to complete the story you have been reading? (Like Old Man Logan and the Thor story line) Isn't that just as rotten?

The examples you used were both late series where they had something planned with the original title that they needed to get started. They wanted to get a Wolverine 2.0 into the series as part of Dark Reign, and I would assume they wanted to start the build up to Siege in Thor. Since JMS had bowed out the series they did need to get moving forward.

I do not necessarily agree with the practice as a whole, but both times I think they were understandable. The counter argument would be why not start Dark Wolverine in its own mini instead of kicking out Old Man Logan from Wolverine.

Yeah, I remember back when LOEG 1910 came out, Moore was going on in all the press about how the move from Wildstorm to Top Shelf freed him from traditional publishing concerns. Without being locked into the traditional 22 page format. he wanted to release chunks of the story that would be satisfying as stand-alone issues. That way Kevin O'Neill's less-than-monthly speed wouldn't leave people hanging every 22 pages. I almost nominated this one myself, but right at the end of the year I got to read both 3 Story and Asterios Polyp, so it got beat.

Any idea when we will have pt 2?

Also, talk about taking the EL and Northern Liberties is of interest to me haha. I was born and raised in Fishtown and recently lived in Northern Liberties for a year.

The Olde City Brave New Worlds is a great store, but I've been a subscriber at Atomic City on South St for years.

Thanks for another great show guys.

I got Murd's back as well on this, as I also nominated it as an OGN....which it is. Seems like Bryan was just messing around though, so it's all good.

Glad to see so many worthy books make the nominations.

Jonah Hex #51 came out of nowhere it seems like, I gave the nod to that and glad I'm not alone in appreciating the awesomeness of it. Darwyn Cooke art plus the usual Graymiotti goodness.

Part II will be up tomorrow!

I lived on 8th and South years back so I visited Atomic City many times (I believe they were Showcase at that time). I always liked their trades selection. This was back in 1994/95 - so seeing that many trades in one place was cool at that time.

In support of Murd, Diamond named LoEG 1910 the second best selling OGN of 2009...
