Justice League Annual 1 Talkback

Glad to have you gents back with the Justice League, and happy you've gotten through the Annual. I'd actually forgotten about it, but Shane's synopsis brought it back rather well; now I don't need to worry about reading it.

This really was a pretty light issue, which plays in to what I think Jamie was driving at, that this was probably more of a filler than anything. Looking at the parade of inkers, and the slim plot, I have to believe this was a last-minute, unplanned annual.

And, I am sure this annual hit shelves between issues 4 and 5. When Legends birthed all of these revamps and new series in early 1987, I was on board and did the same thing as Shane - placing my comics in chronological order, including Annuals - and they did the same thing with the Flash:

creating an annual sometime around the 4th issue (probably because they wanted their annuals to be published over the summer), but they were able to keep the regular team of Baron and Guice in the annual, although the story was self-contained (involving Eastern mysticism and a "death touch" I believe) and something I don't remember them returning to ever in the series.

Anyway. Looking forward to issue #5 and . . . you know.
