Perhaps its time to buckle down and grab the trade of COIE (I know, I know.. automatic 10 geeks demerits for not owning such a treasure, and another 25 for not having completly read all of it.)
I've had just a flip-through at a B&N, no creasing of the binder nor greasy fingerprints, in fact no trade was harmed in such a flip-through, the CGS Vigalantes were on the job, protecting all such literature.
Please take your time guys, I wanna savor and cherish all the CGS knowledge I can asborb. Can't wait to listen...

I admit I didn't do anything at the time, but shortly after finding you guys last year, and hearing you talk about it, I figured I'd check it out. Going into it full on, I got the Absolute Edition and have recently started the search for all the tie-ins.
Just curious, but I was wondering if you were going to review the Crisis on Two Earths DVD when it comes out, as its the most likely the closest Crisis is going to get to the big screen.
Keep being "chatty bitches" and can't wait to hear the next one.

Also having just read the novel version, I am interested to see if it will come up and everyones thoughts on it. It is interesting, but I was really disappointed by the fact that it was written so far after the series that it makes modern reverences that same out of place. Knowing they werent possibly in or even thought of for the original series.

I started collecting comics in the mid '70's and stopped in the early 80's when I sold them. My younger brother was reading comics in the late 80's and I started to read his books. When I found out about the Crisis and that they killed my favorite character the Flash - that's what got me back into comics.
I eventually got all the Crisis issues as well as all the tie-ins and crossovers and loved the whole grand event. When I sold all my comics I only kept one of them - DC Comics Presents Annual #1 which has some tie-in to Crisis of it's own.
There are so many other issues to go over before you even get to Crisis #1 - Flash #123, Justice League of America #21 and #22, and Green Lantern #40 just to name a few. How cool would it be though to finally get to an episode about Crisis #1 in April of 2010 on the 25th anniversary of its cover date?
And the artwork. Wow! I someday hope to own at least one original art page from Crisis on Infinite Earths.
Anyway, looking forward to future episodes!

I am looking forward to hearing this episode asap! In fact, it was thru Crisis that I came to meet Adam. I used to have the giant Alex Ross/George Perez poster outside my office at BGSU.
How do I subscribe to this feed (and the Titans Tower feed). Neither shows up via my itunes account!

One of my projects now that I am underemployed is to convert my plak-it style Ross/Perez Crisis poster into a coffee table for the monkey room.

I came about reading Crisis in a round about way. Being a Marvel guy Crisis was just that book from the "Distinguished Competition". It held no interest to me, at the time I only had maybe three or four DC comics in my entire collection. I always heard about Crisis and how good it was but I never picked up an issue because it was a DC comic. It was not till years after the Burns reboot of Superman did I happen to run across a bunch of the issues in a discount bin at a Walgreens Drug Store. I guess they had been cleaning out their store room and found them. They actually put price stickers on the front of them and were selling them for about 10 cents an issue. I picked up one of each of the issues they had but it was far from a complete run. I read those issues and was able to piece together the story from talking to people at my LCS. It would not be till years later would I buy the TPB and read the whole story for myself. I was first attracted book because of the art. I was a big George Pérez fan from his days at Marvel, but the story was so good that I read and reread that TPB. I'm still not the biggest DC fan but I do love COIE and cannot wait to hear you guys dissect story.

Murd, I was struck by a parallel with you. Like you, I obtained my Masters (MFA) writing about superheroes. This was at the University of Idaho, whose football team, coincidentally, is playing against your Bowling Green team in the Humanitarian Bowl in a few weeks. Go Vandals!
Thanks for doing this and keep up the good work!

The one character who may have been least connected to Crisis is Hal Jordan. I know he doesn't appear anywhere in the series since he is not on the Alex Ross/George Perez poster. I believe he was exiled in space but that may be wrong.
Adam, you may also want to post a link to your thesis if it's online.

I think Hal was exiled in space.... but what I would love to see is a "redone" Crisis.. in which all those "time switching" moments in 6-7 go back and feature some of the characters we have seen since working with the heroes in the 80s..
I can't wait to listen guys.. I know have something to fluff and fold to this evening.
