Adventure Comics #4 – While everyone else might loathe him, I personally am a fan of Superboy-Prime. I especially enjoyed him in this issue, because Johns’ execution of the comics-meets-reality world of Earth Prime is spot-on. I chuckled heartily at the quip about the computer holding abundant amounts of rage from the internet. Cute. While it wasn’t a spectacular issue like the first three, it still had its moments.

Air #15 – With Blythe out of commission, it’s now up to Amelia to track down Zayn to have a little heart-to-heart with. I really enjoyed seeing some of Amelia’s back story with the wedding and her help developing the city in the sky that runs on Hyperax engines. Air continues to be such a great series, both art and story-wise. A definite contender for Top 5 Series in my yearly review show.

Amazing Spider-Man #612 – The Gauntlet is finally beginning! In this issue it was a nice little villain spotlight on Electro, and how he’s been down on his luck. Now a leader of the people against ‘The Man’, Electro sends his followers after both the DB, and Spider-Man. Gorgeous art by Paul Azaceta with colors by Dave Stewart, and also a killer back-up by JM Ken Niimura and Joe Kelly (the same creative team on I Kill Giants).

Azrael #2 – Since we know from the first issue that he’s eventually going to die at the end of the series, what’s the point staying on to find out how he dies?

Batman: Streets of Gotham #6 – I liked the invisible voice plaguing the priest, but I liked more that the priest was playing scared. Nice little twist there. Loved the art, but the past two issues haven’t been all that suspenseful like the ones Dini wrote. Oh, also liked seeing Kate Spencer flirt with Dick Wayne at the pool. Can you say ‘cougar’?

Batman Confidential #37 – Not such a fan of the Blackhawks, so a lot of the history of the squadron flew right by me. The art was nice, so I’ll just focus on that.

Black Knight One-Shot – I didn’t know the fans were craving an origin issue of this character. I know I could have lived without it.

Brave and the Bold #29 – I know a lot of people are enjoying this series again now that JMS is the writer, but team-ups like Batman & Geek are ones that make me ask “why bother?” I’m sure if you’re one of the five hardcore fans of Geek, you had a blast in this issue and now need to go change your underwear. I for one will just wait for the next issue.

Conan The Cimmerian #16 – Loved the art as usual, it’s the story I’m not really following. Tons of text and speech bubbles to follow in this issue, making you want just Conan and tons of blood instead of talk. Conan versus the raptor was pretty cool!

Dark Avengers #11 – Not really familiar with Molecule Man, but I like how he’s a powerful yet pathetic loser with no friends. Also nice to see some back story on Ms. Hand in her SHIELD days.

Dark Reign – The List: Amazing Spider-Man – While Kubert’s art was fantastic, the story was pretty tame compared to the Punisher special. As usual, Spidey and Norman fight, Spidey gets away, and Norman swears he’ll kill him next time. If it wasn’t for the art, I’d say save your money and skip it.

Deadlocke One-Shot – Wasn’t sure if this was an ongoing or a miniseries at one point, but I didn’t like it. The art was ‘okay’, but the story was both confusing and not well written. Skip it!

Deadpool: Merc With A Mouth #5 – The introduction of Bill, Agent of A.I.M. has me still picking-up this series from now on. I think as soon as they’re done with the zombie Deadpool head storyline, this series will get even funnier. The sequence involving the Star Wars prequels discussion was hysterical! “JAR JAR BINKS IS AN ABOMINATION! SAY IT!”

Dr. Horrible One-Shot – If you’re a fan of the Sing-Along Blog, PICK THIS ISSUE UP IMMEDIATELY! It gives us Billys back story, and his rise to the Dr. Horrible we all know and love. With cameos of Moist and Penny, and battles with Captain Hammer, this one-shot is hilarious, entertaining, and all-around good fun. I listened to the soundtrack right after reading it, and now have Brand New Day stuck in my head.

Hellblazer #261 – Now this issue is the start of something crazy! I really like the adventure starting in India, with the creepy multi-headed spirits killing young girls, and Constantine just happens to be coincidentally in that neck of the woods. Let the battle of demons begin!

Incredible Hulk #604 – And now this series has gone back to being a joke. While I still love Olivetti’s art, it’s the story that makes me cringe. Everything from battling harpies to playing football with all the people who want to kill Banner. Call me when it gets good again.

Invincible #68 – Once more, Kirkman is a sly sonuvabitch! Lots of things happening in this issue, including a twist that takes you completely by surprise! Conquest is once again on the loose, and Atom Eve discovers she has a bun in the oven. You’d think that since she’s able to change the molecules of anything, she would at least find the time to create a supercondom of some sort, right? This is why all superheroes need to teach abstinence only education!

Irredeemable #8 – While it’s enjoyable to see how evil the Plutonian is, what’s even more enjoyable is seeing Charybdis mop the floor with him! Playing dumb and weak all this time since his brother died really takes the Plutonian by surprise, forcing him to eventually flee. Makes sense; he’s so used to being invincible, that he never bothered to learn proper fighting techniques!

Justice Society of America 80 Page Giant – Unless you’re a hardcore die-hard fan of the current run of JSA, save your money. This is nothing more than a collection of shorts from various writers and artists, each of them mediocre at best (the stories, not the talent). I haven’t been a fan since Johns left, so this special isn’t helping sway me back to the current series.

Mighty Avengers #31 – I enjoyed the stuff I could understand (Inhumans receiving the crystals back from Quicksilver, epic battle with the exiled leader).

The Outsiders #24 – So I picked-up this issue for the ring, and it turns out the ring was the only good thing to come from it. I loathe Geo-Force and undead Terra, so to have a spotlight on both of them this issue just really made me vomit rage like a Red Lantern.

Phonogram: The Singles Club #5 – Gorgeous art! I cannot stress that enough. I actually went to McKelvie’s site last night and plan on ordering those beautiful covers for Suburban Glamour. I want to display his art everywhere.

Punisher #11 – I raged. I raged hard after reading this issue. With the Punisher special where Daken kills Frank by slicing and dicing him, they should of ended it right there. Frank is a badass motherfucker, and went out like one, guns a-blazin’. What they do in this issue is resurrect him as a Frankenstein monster on Monster Island to help combat the execution squads that are mowing the monsters down. What the fuck. I understand it’s from far left field and original, but do that with another character, not Frank Castle. What Frank Castle is, is a vigilante avenging his slain family. He has lots of weapons, and kills criminals in the most gruesome ways imaginable. He’s been this way since the 70’s, and the reason he failed in the early 90’s was because the powers-at-be at Marvel tried twisting his character as a Ghost Rider type of character; angel of God, a spirit of vengeance. Same thing is starting to develop here; he’s a monster helping other monsters. The only thing I can see redeeming him is making these next few issues all a dream. All one horrible dream. Thank Kirby we have Aaron and Dillon on the Punisher MAX series, or else I would have been one step closer to adjusting the noose I have hanging above my door.

Realm of Kings #1 – While I loved the War of Kings event, this new one isn’t floating my boat. It’s too out there for me. But who knows? Since it’s Abnett & Lanning, they might have a great story in the making and I’ll beg for forgiveness for not being a believer.

Real of Kings: Inhumans #1 – Liked the fight when Ronan The Accuser joined in, but that was the only highlight for me. It’s a set-up issue, so I’m hoping for better outcome down the line.

Spider-Man 1602 #2 – DO NOT WANT!

Spider-Woman #3 – Alas, all the things I didn’t miss about Jessica Drew (her alliances with 50 different people) are alive and well in this issue. Also, I’m just not a fan of Maleev’s art.

Star Trek: The Next Generation: Ghosts #1 – While I can enjoy a good Star Trek comic from time to time, this new series didn’t hook me. It came off as ‘silly’ if anything.

Supergirl #47 – I pretty much skimmed through this issue. Pretty colors!

Superman / Batman #66 – A whole issue of Scott Kollins art. I melted into a pool of happiness! The story wasn’t fantastic, but the art definitely was! I think I might go flip through it again right now.

The Flash: Rebirth #5 – Pick of the Week. It’s funny; we were talking on the forum before this issue came out about how we all weren’t a fan of this series, and how Geoff Johns finally wrote a boring comic. Then this issue comes out and completely blows me away! Things finally start happening this issue, where we have all the speedsters versus Reverse-Flash. Ethan Van Sciver’s art is just amazing this issue, and really makes the pages come alive. The big reveals at the end were great, and I can’t wait to see what happens to Iris in the final issue! Geoff, I’m sorry I ever doubted you!

Thunderbolts #138 – Cool action sequences this issue, and that’s about it. However, I’m such a fan of Ghost, that I wouldn’t mind seeing him in his own miniseries.

Tiny Titans #22 – I had to pick this issue up since both Plastic Man and Offspring were featured in this issue! Totally fun for all ages!

Walt Disney Comics & Stories #700 – I’m not really a fan of the Disney style, but I can see kids liking this issue.

War Machine #11 – Skip it.

Wolverine Origins #42 – “meh.”

Wolverine: Weapon X #7 – Not liking this current story arc, but I gotta give it up for the art; just great stuff.

X-Men Legacy #229 – Didn’t even attempt to read the story, for I was too busy drooling over Acuna’s art.

X-Men vs Agents of Atlas #2 – Action-packed throughout! Jeff Parker continues to captivate me with his storytelling, that I’ve become such a big fan of the Agents of Atlas team this past year. Great mini, can’t wait to see how it plays out in future issues.

I actually really enjoyed The List - Amazing Spider-man. Sure, it wasn't a huge showdown, but it was pretty realistic. All Peter wanted to do for now was oust Osborn and get the ball rolling. I thought Slott really got Norman and Peter's personality well, especially with the scene where Peter notices Osborn's uni-beam is flawed. I can't wait for the showdown in The Siege.

I wasn't a huge fan of Adventure Comics. I could have done without the Blackest Night tie-in, but maybe it'll be cool. I mean, it was funny, but I'd prefer sticking with the Superboy storyline.

Amazing Spider-man and Irredeemable were both fun, especially Spidey. I'm looking forward to the rest of the Guantlet and I'll be signing up for Incorruptible. Dark Avengers was cool just to see Norman continue to go crazy.
