I loved the show and especially the Public Service Announcement by Pants - Yes, folks, PLEASE by kind to the retailers and the minions. If you think about it, when you order stuff via mail, you might consider leaving a tip for your mail carrier or UPS driver but it seems people have no problem whatsoever taking out their stress on folks in an actual shop.

Now, dear listeners, what is it that you hope Santa brings you this year (please don't say Megan Fox)? I know I'll probably treat myself to the latest seasons of Monk & Psych.

Great show, guys. Pretty cool hearing about what's coming out. I only have a young niece and nephew, and thankfully they're too young to want the "hot" toys. Won't be much longer before I'm hunting for them as much as I hunt for myself. Kinda glad I've gotta work on Black Friday this year, since I can't remember ever finding the stuff I want on that day the last few years. I was in a 1/2 mile long line outside of TRU last year and didn't find a damned thing I wanted. Can't even remember what I was looking for. Probably DCUC wave 6. Wal-Marts are the worst places to go on Black Friday. I've been out there and every year I see people out there loading up U-Hauls with the shit they're buying. Crazy.

I dug this episode just like last year. My son's too young to get into the "hot" toys and my daughter's too old, so I consider myself luck for now. Another year or two might be a different story. I am just going to tag on two side notes from this episode in one subject. I agree with Pants about the age suggestions vs development argument. I had some people think I was nuts last year when I bought my son the Imaginext Batcave (2nd side note) for my son's 2nd birthday. All we did was take the little projectiles. He's loved it for the past year like crazy. Knew exactly how to play with it and the figures almost immediately. So anyone with kids, if you haven't gotten it yet, pick one up. Hours of fun for the kids

Thanks for all the positive feedback everyone! It is appreciated.

I love the HOT TOYS show from last year and this year. I am always amazed at how much is on the list which I would never pick, lol. I am also learning just how far removed I am from when I worked at TRU as I have no idea what some of these toys on this year's list.

I think future shows should definately feature not just toys in general, but toys for collectors. I'd love to hear more discussion about old 80s toys. How about a TMNT one since it's all the rage now a days with the anniversary and the buyout? Or what about fast food toys? Would love to hear about that as well since I have a ton of fond memories of those.

I've been away on vacation so my iPod hasn't been updated in about a week, but I did manage to listen to this episode while vacationing and loved it! As a dad of 3 boys, I totally groove on the Xmas toy talk. Shane, when you said how your son chooses which Legos to long for based on how many mini-figures, I was fist pumping b/c that's EXACTLY what my 6- and 4-year olds do! Classic example of that, my son Colin had earned some $$$ and wanted to buy a lego set. We went to Toys R Us and he had been eyeing up the Hoth Battle Set. Yet, when we got there and he saw it only came with one guy, he immediately moved onto greener pastures. smile.gif

To that end, while the Mos Eisley Spaceport set looks great, that Endor set is a MUST HAVE. It comes with 12 mini-figures!!! My sons are dying for it.

The Minifig Ratio is a big deciding factor for my son, too. Give him a choice of a cool car that has one minifig or one of those "army builder" Star Wars sets with Clone Troopers or Rebel soldiers or whatever and a really lame vehicle for them, and he'll pick the latter every time, even if it's one he already has (he doesn't care... hey, more guys!).

Agreed. I think everyone should have to work retail for at least one holiday season sometime in their life. They way they think about and treat people in stores would change instantly.

Yeah that 12 fig set is a must at some point here too. My oldest drools over that every time we go to the toy store. LOL.

Always feels good to know my boys are, in some ways, just like other boys. to be honest, I know I did the same thing. When it came to GI Joe figs...I always picked out figs that came with the most weapons. LOL.

Great show I love to hear what the new hot toys are for the season. One suggestion maybe next time you could ad in your conversation a part about store exclusive toys that come out during the holidays. The box stores seem to get some neat things in but don't promote them more than in there fliers once.
