So, Fred Chao is like the "Raven" of our Teen Titan gang?

It all makes so much sense now.

What kind of ending is that??? You guys start talking all about Jamie Tanner's new book, and I get all excited to hear the dish, and then as soon as GB starts talking, you fade out, say goodbye, and come in and ask me to buy more copies of AWESOME 2. WTF???! Tell me all about what's happening with the new Jamie Tanner book!! I want to hear the gossip!

My apologies, you're right. He wasn't in Thunderdome, but he did make a Mad Max inspired video for his song You Got Lucky. Mixing up our post-apocalyptic movies. He's in The Postman with Kevin Coster, no where near as bad-ass as Mad Max. Still, Petty looks great in it.

Jamie's Kickstarter project is wonderful. You should totally check it out.

heh. Yeah, I want to know too! laughingsmiley.gif

I heard someone (Neil?) ask why AdHouse wasn't publishing it, and I think the answer is: Jamie doesn't know who is publishing it yet.

My understanding was that kickstarter was to help Jamie CREATE the book. As in do less freelance, and focus on making the book... in a much sorter time span than AVIARY.

My guess is that once Jamie has enough to shop around, he'll ask the usual suspects. I'd love to work with Jamie again. He's a class act.

Him and Tom Petty.

I have actually seen this, and it's very cool. I want to pay the amount of money that forces Jamie to name the book "Mike Dawson: The Graphic Novel". I will look into this.

In all seriousness, it's a great idea, and I'm very happy to hear he's pushing forward on a new book. Every time we hang out I feel like I am like an annoying comics-making relative, always nagging him to draw more new comics.

Yay! Awesome show. Thanks for the shout out at the beginning. The ride back was actually fairly lively, until about 3am, when it got difficult for anyone but Jeff to stay awake. Luckily he was the one behind the wheel.

I really loved the insightful, well-informed and sensitive transgender talk in the first in-the-car segment. Next time could you talk about Latinos or some other group whose lives are a joke? That'd be really awesome!

I did like to hear about the working styles of the car folks and I thought the interviews were really good, especially Evan's.

Is the Petty-hating a Florida thing? Do they have Tom Petty parades and stuff down there?

I like him fine in a part-of-the-cultural-landscape kind of way, but there aren't any Tom Petty impersonators getting in my face all along Main Street where I live, so...

When do we get to see Dead Man Holiday -1???

Haha, what? Not that I'm aware of, but that sounds weird enough that I actually would enjoy it. I have an aversion to most classic rock, and he's even more bland than most of it. I don't think he's bad, just not my bag.

Very soon! I'm hoping to wrap post-production up and have it out to Ka-Blam by Sunday. Setting the levels in Photoshop for all the tones on my painted pages just right for the printer is a time consuming PAIN. I'm thinking about holding the release off for a while to participate in Indy Comic Book Week:
http://indycomicbookweek.com/
Good idea/ bad idea? Anyone else thinking of releasing anything around then?

Are we gonna have to open a 'Debating Tom Petty' thread?

I guess I'm in the anti-Petty group, as I only like 5 songs from his 33-year career.
