Cool episode, nice hearing Cy's passion for the stuff coming through even if it did give me a case of "crap... Im doing it wrong, I just try and write stuff, Cy has GRAPHS!"
Looking forward to seeing the other stuff as and when it gets released as really enjoyed Cancertown

As Nic said, she can sort you out with a copy once we all get back from BICS. It's a great read that will shatter naive minds and warp them into something new, hideous and awakened!

Sounds fair.
I've got one of those t-shirts with a velcro strip across the front that you stick letters to. I was considering putting the quotation on that for the con, but I doubt I have the right combination of letters for it. After all, I only just had enough vowels to write "[name of my least favourite comics personality deleted] is a [name of my most favourite anatomical component deleted]" on it...

I read the first 3 volumes of Death Note (mentioned in one episode a very long time ago now!) which I thought was very good. i was really taken with it at first but I felt by vol. 3 it started to lose it's way a bit so although I enjoyed it I was happy to leave it there.
Ex machina - I picked up the first trade ages ago when you guys first alerted me to it and have fairly recently read the second trade. Its been a great story so far and the second trade really goes further into both the sci fi and the political aspects of the story. Ive had the 3rd on order from play.com for a couple of weeks but it still seems to be pending for some reason. Is anyone else still reading this I'd love toknow if others are enjoying it.
Most recently I have delved further into the world of Batman. Having only read the Dark Knight Returns previously I got hold of 2 other major books The Killing Joke and Batman Year One. I enjoyed them both although Killing Joke was dark to the point of being a little unsettling! I wouldnt say this stopped me enjoying it more that it made it a challenging read for me. Year one I also thought was great and I really liked the art here too there's just something I cant put my finger on which appealed to me. Something that really struck me reading both these books were elements which were quite clearly lifted out and applied to the new Batman film franchise. In fact despite what I had been led to believe by the media I would say I can see a lot more of these 2 books in the Dark Knight movie than I can from the Dark Knight Returns book.
So, my comics education continues! Im always taking notes when listening to you guys and have a list as long as my arm of others I want to check out!
If anyone else has read any of the booksIve mentioned above it would be great to hear what people think about them
Also, as you know I enjoy Hawaiian Dick (ha ha very funny), I noticed that there is a 3rd trade out but I cant seem to track it down. Anyone read this?

I will pour over it tonight and leave my thoughts!
I'm excited to read something new and to have already heard the author's thoughts.

Hey Gaz,
Great to hear from you again. Sounds like you've got hold of some classics lately! Especially The Killing Joke, fantastic Batman story. Glad to hear we're keeping you busy with lots of other choices as well! I agree with you that there were more similarities with them and the new franchise than necessarily with The Dark Knight returns, though I think all of those comics that came out around that time that we now think about as classics (for example Watchmen) signalled a move to treating superheroes as much more realistic characters than they were before, and the new Batman movies certainly follows that train of thought.
I've not read the 3rd Hawaiian Dick trade. Steve, do you know anything about it?

-Scott.
I think the release of this was delayed. Not sure why but I remember it being mentioned somewhere.
