Let's get this ball rollin'!

Green Lantern Corps #40 - I'm having fun with the whole Blackest Night event, I'm getting tired of the same whole exchange between the living and dead; "Is that really you?" "Yes, it's really me! I'm back!" "Wait, you're not really you!" "You're right! LET ME EAT YOUR HEART!" and then they all fight. As soon as we get past all the re-introductions, I'm sure I'll be enjoying it a lot more. HOWEVER, it was pretty damn cool to see who is in charge now that the Oans are MIA.

Blackest Night: Batman #2 - I'm still sorta feeling letdown by this mini. If you can't kill the Black Lanterns, then what good is fire going to do? Hopefully the next issue will be more gut-wrenching now that Dick & Tim have to go-up against their own parents.

Amazing Spider-Man #604 - Great to see Spidey back in action and discovering what kind of mischief Chameleon has gotten into while he was impersonating him. I especially loved the new girlfriend giving Peter the down-low on how things would be working out from now on. But I gotta say, the Chameleon was right; Peter does need to take some responsibility in his life. And now that the Chameleon has joined Kraven, are we possibly seeing a newly formed Sinister Six in the works?

Adventure Comics #2 - Pick of the Week, hands-down. This issue took me straight back to Johns' run on the Teen Titans (you know, back when it was good), and I didn't realize how much I missed the Connor / Cassie relationship. Just to see them pour their souls out to each other warmed the cockles of my heart. Manapul's art on this was fantastic, too. Especially in the beginning with Braniac and Lex creating chaos from the ship. Speaking of those two, who do you think is going to betray the other first?

Red Robin #4 - Cool to see the cave painting in the end, but all the things leading up to it were pretty yawn-filled.

Kick-Ass #7 - Ah yes, the comic adaptation of the movie. Ah yes, late again. Negative comments aside, this issue was pretty good. Cool to see that Big Daddy doesn't actually have a Punisher-esque origin story, but is actually a fellow comic book nerd selling his old back issues for funding. Sad to see him go, but it'll be enjoyable to see Hit Girl have her revenge. Also, Red Mist is a dick.

The Marvels Project #2 - Brubaker is a fantastic writer, no doubt about it, but I just can't seem to get interested in this series. It's hard for me to appreciate the Golden Age heroes sometimes, and this is one of those times.

Superman: World of New Krypton #7 - I'm happy to see that the character of Zod has more depth in his character rather than the maniac we always see him written as. He's a military strategist, and knows very well that Kal-El will keep their people safe while he recovers. Can't wait to see if the Kryptonians and Earthlings have to fight at the end of the series.

Ultimate Comics: Avengers #2 - Very cool origin story of the Red Skull. If he is indeed harder, better, faster, stronger, than dear old dad, then I can't wait to see how that fight goes down! The dude has to be pretty unstable if he's willing to fillet his own face like that. Also, interesting to learn that Tony has an older brother.

Dark Reign: The List - Avengers #1 - Since Clint is so hell-bent on killing Osborn that he tries taking on the Dark Avengers by himself, he deserves to die for that kind of stupidity. He isn't the rampaging Hulk, he's a sharp-shooter who wants to shoot first and ask questions later. Maybe next time he'll look before he leaps.

Dark Avengers / Uncanny X-Men : Exodus - Very action-packed conclusion with some killer fights throughout! I loved the art and story on this series, but this issue in particular takes the cake! Osborn is quite the politician however when it comes to spinning stories and showing his Avengers in the winning light. And now once again, the X-Men rebuild.

War Of Kings: Who Will Rule - While this wasn't the strongest title in the overall event, at least we know who rules now. Beautiful art, but I didn't need the mental image of Ronan & Crystal gettin' it on. He'd crush her if on top, right? Plus we didn't need all the stats of the different characters in the back of the issue; that's what Wikipedia's for.

Secret Six #13 - Another fun issue! Ragdoll dressing-up as Wonder Woman had me laughing for a good couple of minutes. The dark humor mixed with the action makes this series a must read for anyone who loves comics.

Thunderbolts #135 - Okay, I got a little confused with this issue. So Black Widow was taking orders from a fake Nick Fury who Osborn was controlling, then the real Fury gets captured some how? I have a hard time believing Fury to be that careless. Hopefully the next issue will help me get a better grasp on the situation.

BPRD 1947 #3 - There's gorgeous art on every page, but the story isn't really doing it for me. I LOVED both the art and story in BPRD 1946, but this sequel series doesn't have that same fun and excitement going for it.

Doom Patrol #2 - I'm enjoying the Metal Men back-up more than the main story.

Hellboy: The Wild Hunt #6 - All the greatness in this issue made me forget about all the lateness. Spectacular artwork and colors, and quite the "Holy Shit!" moment when it's revealed that Hellboy is a direct descendant of King Arthur. Can't wait to see the battle for Britain in these remaining issues!

Booster Gold #24 - Well with all the multi-colored rings in Green Lantern, I guess it was only a matter of time with all the multi-colored scarabs. I would like to see the reveal of the Black Beetle sometime soon however, because it's starting to get no longer mysterious.

Dark Reign: Young Avengers #4 - I can understand taking your ball and going home when no one wants to play with you, but calling in the Dark Avengers? Dick move!

House of Mystery #17 - Very interesting to see the back-story of the resident poet, and it's finally starting to make sense with the undead couple. However, as shown, sometimes love makes you do the most stupidest things. I hope others are enjoying this series as much as I am, because I would hate to see it get canceled!

Titans #17 - Ugh, a Beast Boy spotlight. Someone please cancel this series already, it's been horrible from the get-go.

DMZ #45 - Interesting to see Matty as more of a politician nowadays instead of a journalist. Cool to see the possibility of a nuclear-armed state getting their own news station, run by Matty himself.

Red Circle: The Shield #1 - Despite trying not to come across as a Captain America knock-off, it totally feels like it. This character might have come before Captain America did, but I'm pretty sure everyone enjoys Cap a helluva lot more.

The Punisher MAX #74 - Of all the post-Ennis MAX stories, this arc was by far my favorite. It felt like a bloody B-horror movie from the 70's starring Frank Castle. This double-sized issue completed the arc quite nicely, and it was a gorey-good time! I recommend picking-up this trade when it comes out it you want a good Punisher story.

Dead Space : Extraction - I'm not familiar with the game at all, but if the graphics are anything like Templesmith's art in this then I'm pretty sure I'd shit my pants. The story and dialogue went right over my head, but Templesmith's art (as usual) was fantastic!

Models Inc #1 - While I enjoyed the main story more than any of the Marvel Divas issues, I really loved the Tim Gunn story in the back where he dawns the Iron Man armor and kicks some AIM ass! I want more Tim Gunn in my comics (yes, I am a fan of Project Runway)!

Red Sonja #48 - I really liked the brutality in this issue! Red Sonja and her army vs Were-Yeti's was a fun read by Mr. Brian Reed.

Vampirella: The Second Coming #1 - I've never read a Vampirella comic before, but I sort of suspect this is trying to catch some of the Twilight and True Blood fans since vampires are so hot right now.

Marvel Zombies: The Return #2 - Well that was a completely pointless issue.

What did YOU get & enjoy this week??
