It starts today!

Regarding parking , I called the convention center twice, the Rosemont Convention Center garage is $13 x 24 hours , no in-out privileges, but you can leave it overnight.

I am set for going Thurs, I'll have a Transformers symbol shirt, Ferris Aircraft on Fri., Classic Justice League on Sat, cuz that's how I roll! zyfingerdance.gif

Hope to see some of you !

Hector

On the el on my way! Purple wheelie suitcase, brainstorm comic t-shirt. Today's mission...cheap trades.

Well the Thursday Melee is over. I bought 40 frickin' trades, wow, even with the wheeled bag and back pack, my back is hurting.

Is it me, or is there something irritating as hell about the t-shirt vendors.

Geez! May I ask how much that cost around? What kind of deals did you get, if any?

SO far i've gotten a different vib than I have from the past years. It was only preview night so maybe i'll feel differently, just didn't feel as grand as it usually does. maybe it's because there's no dc or marvel booth right when you walk in.
...and WTF is gillette doing there? that was just wierd.

I think the whole thing was punctuated by a very sad and dejected looking Greg "The Hammer" Valentine sitting in the media section, by himself, with no one waiting to meet him.

I'm not there today (I know, I know, it'll all be alright) but evil Money still is.

Speaking of which, we've hade a great reception. A lot of people have stopped, bought books and even the ones that didn't had many nice things to say. Friday was better than Thursday and hopefully Saturday is better than Friday.

Greg "The Hammer" Valentine looked exactly the same (I'm not kidding) on Friday as he did Thursday. So very sad. It really brings down the mood.

Yeah, I saw him on Friday - he just looked sad to me as well. He should give figure four demonstrations or something, instead of an autograph, sign a waiver and see how long you can last in a Figure Four.

I finally met Pants today. I don't care what anyone says, he is a pretty cool guy. He even let me butt in line for the DC Sunday Conversation panel.

I would say yes and no. Yes in the fact that I really needed a little time away (long story), and the fact that I got to see Perez again and let him know he is still my favorite. As well as meeting the other creators that I got to meet.

No in the fact that I was more dissapointed on the lack of the DC and Marvel (Boom, Dark Horse, etc...) booths than I thought. Having all those tv, movie, and wrestling people kind of brought things down for me, since most of them were charging so much for autographs, photos, etc...

Overall it was a great time for me. I don't have a local shop, but when I do get to go to one its always rushed and I don't really get to spend the time that I want too. Being able to take all the time that I wanted to look at whatever I wanted too was really great and has really energized my enthusiasm for comics more than it has in a long time.

From a comics industry standpoint, it also gave me first hand knowledge on how we have heard on some of the podcasts on how Marvel is flooding the market with stuff. I can't tell you how many $5 trade boxes i went through that were full of scores and scores of Marvel stuff, I would say 95% of it. Some of it was only a few months old. Today I was even able to pick up the first three Brand New day hardcovers for $5 a piece. I haven't read Marvel for years, and I was able to get a lot of stuff that I have wondered about this weekend.

Okay 2 things -
1) I'm mad at Wizard for kicking me out of the room after the X-Men panel and making me get in the back of the line for the DC panel. Yeah, there was a line, but it ended up not matter; the room wasn't even half full.

2) I'm mad at you and Pants for bailing before the panel was done (even though it went over). I wanted to say, "Hi," and was sitting right across the aisle.
