So due to comics being pushed back a day, Episode 82 won't be up until tomorrow. In the meantime, here are the reviews for the week!

Green Lantern #41 - You know, to be perfectly honest, this felt like sort of a tame issue to me. Yes we get the backstory of Larfleeze and how he came into possesion of the Orange Lantern, but apart from that I wasn't really blown-away. Sure Hal finally is rid of the Blue Lantern ring (not the safest way, mind you), but I'm sure I'll be back in mood for issue #42.

New Avengers #53 - Does Clint even have a license to fly that thing?! I enjoyed that the entire time the Avengers are fighting against The Hood, Clint is trying to land the plane. I had fun with that. Anyways, cool to see The Hood just lose it and become his demon form, but I'm not so sold on the new Sorcerer Supreme yet. That's something I'm going to have to get used to. Enjoyable issue overall.

Wolverine #72 - Pick of the week, but I'm really conflicted. I've been having the time of my life with this series, and Marvel goes and pulls this crap. It was very entertaining to see Logan go toe-to-toe with the Red Skull in his very impressive trophy room, even after he breaks his promise and beheads him for the good of mankind (with Captain America's shield, no less!). But correct me if I'm wrong, wasn't Marvel hyping this to be the last issue in the storyline? They even re-numbered the issue to make way for a ridiculous one-shot to coincide with the Wolverine movie release, and yet I was still patient. I kept telling myself "one more issue left! And just look at that cover, it's completely badass!" Now a few of you might tell me "But Cammy, it was all over the internets when news first broke at NY Comic-Con! It's your own fault for not seeing the article!" This is true, but I personally decided to stay away from all news from that particular Con, and that's my burden to bear. I guess I'm a little conflicted that I loved the story so much, but now have to pay an additional $4 to get the ending I thought I was getting in this issue. In the end, maybe I should have just waited for the hardcover.

Amazing Spider-Man #595 - Guess who's coming to dinner? Stormin' Norman, that's who! Fun issue to see everyone (except JJJ Jr.) avoiding Norman like the green plague he is. Also, very kick-ass to see Parker hell-bent on taking him down, and now on a quest to get the proof he needs to run the story. I'm really excited about this arc, and it pleases me to no end that I have Joe Kelly to thank for it! In Joe Kelly we trust!

Superman #688 - I'll be honest, I didn't really read through this issue. Too many two-page spreads filled with nothing but dialogue for me. I haven't been enjoying this series since the absence of Supes, so I'll just glimpse through it just to see if I'm missing anything important. Turns out, I'm not.

Justice Society of America #27 - After that beautiful run by Geoff Johns, it feels like someone kicked me in the shins with this issue. I might be singing a different tune when Willingham & Sturges finally get on board.

Guardians of the Galaxy #14 - Totally awesome issue! It's always so much fun to read this and Nova whenever both titles are out the same week (which is usually quite often). You got one group versus the Shi'ar, and another versus the Kree, with both teams goal on having peaceful negotiations go straight down the toliet. And with both sides arriving at the same place on the last page, it's going to be nothing but absolute chaos next issue!!!

Spider-Man: The Short Halloween - Yes, the title is a spoof on Loeb & Sale's The Long Halloween. Overall I had fun with this one-shot. The druken guy in the Spider-Man costume constantly shouting "I'm Spider-Man!" reminded me so much of my friend JT, who not only loves Spider-Man, but loves drinking large amounts of alcohol as well. I need to make sure he reads this one-shot if he hasn't already, because I think he'll really like it. Oh, and you all will probably like it too, because who doesn't have that one drunk friend who saves the day on occasion?

Gotham Gazette Batman Alive #1 - Pass. This issue just ties-up a lot of loose ends with the background characters from the Battle For The Cowl event.

Nova #25 - A-ha! So it seems Worldmind was slipped a cosmic roofie by that egomaniac known as Ego! Bad living planet! No more Nova Corps for you! It was great to see Rider back in the blue & gold, and I can't wait to see him back in action and helping his little buddies The Guardians of the Galaxy in the whole War of Kings series. Huzzah!

Ultimate Wolverine vs Hulk #6 - Alas, the comic that no one thought would ever end! Yes, the series is finally over, and no, it didn't really go out with a BANG like everyone was expecting. Fury has Betty locked-up, and Banner / Hulk agrees to work for him so he can see her again. Meanwhile, Logan is still Logan, and gets the last word on the final page. It's a very Wolverine thing to say too. Now, lets get that hardcover out already!

X-Force #15 - Stryfe has 99 problems, and a bitch ain't no longer one. Now it seems he has to protect her not only from her rescuers, but his so-called 'allies' as well. Enter Apocalypse at the end, and I had a spectacular time with this issue. The art is gorgeous, and the writing action-packed. And yes, Deadpool is still his regular insane self!

Dark Reign: The Hood #1 - I was actually expecting this to be a throw-away mini-series like Dark Reign: Hawkeye, but was happily surprised with the end result. You get some more backstory on the guy, and even though it feels like he's in everything Dark Reign nowadays, there's still some freshness to him. He's not as over-exposed like Wolverine is, and I'll definitely be picking up the rest of this mini because of it.

Justice League of America #33 - I heard the other day that McDuffie was finally kicked-off this series. I understand that editorial was pretty much forcing him to write the stories they wanted him to write, and he had no creative freedom whatsoever, but I'm glad that I no longer have to torture myself by reading these stories. I've enjoyed McDuffie's work on other titles (Fantastic Four), but this was just so painful to read every issue.

Ghost Rider #35 - Oh Aaron & Moore, I'll miss your awesomely-crazy issues you created together! I think this issue was a nice and proper send-off for Moore, and I do hope he comes back in the near future. Every page was so much fun to look at, and all creatures were nice and bizzare. And the main villain? Creepy as hell!

The Literals #2 - This was pretty much nothing but a giant shoot-out for the majority of the issue. You have the different genres battling the Page Sisters, and Kevin killing his brother Writer's Block so he can no successfully destroy the world! Cool stuff, can't wait to see what happens next.

Batman In Barcelona: Dragons Knight - Mark Waid is the writer, and this fabulous fellow I'm not familiar with, Diego Olmos, does the art, and it really has a nice Bruce Timm-esque style that really fit well with the issue. Batman hunts Killer Croc in Barcelona, and looks like a dick to an ex-flame. Oh Bruce, when will you ever learn? Enjoyable issue overall, and worth the $4.

Dark Reign: Elektra #3 - On the run from every bounty hunter with an itchy trigger finger, Elektra kicks so much ass in this issue and reminds us that actions speak louder than words. Next issue it's Bullseye vs Elektra, and my money is on the honey in red! Enjoyable read.

The Last Days Of Animal Man #1 - This didn't hook me yet. Sure you get a nice Brian Bolland cover, and sure it takes place in my hometown of San Diego, but Animal Man slowly losing his powers isn't enough to get me excited. Replace Conway with Morrison, and then you have a horse of a different color!

Final Crisis Aftermath: Ink #1 - Like I predicted, this issue was a waste of money. I don't give two-shits about the Tattooed Man, let alone being apart of the Justice League. Typical you-used-to-be-bad-so-your-kind-never-changes storyline when a murder happens, and the hero tries to prove his innocence. Want a fun Final Crisis Aftermath title? Pick-up Dance.

Ms. Marvel #39 - I was a little confused with this issue, but since it's not Carol Danvers, I'm not going to care if I understand it or not.

Wonder Woman #32 - I want to care, but it feels like this arc has been going on forever. Get to the next storyarc already!

The Sword #17 - Player 3 has entered the game! With a stunning fight between Dara and Knossos now on every news channel, Knossos' sister has finally arrived to help. But who is she siding with, exactly? Killer art, killer story, the Luna Brothers have done it again!

Teen Titans #71 - Of all the Teen Titans, Rose is my favorite. Now that she's going on to her own series, I'll go ahead and follow her.

Wolverine Origins #36 - So now that Daken has the whole Weapon X do-over like his dad, why didn't he just kill him when he had the chance? Way has been on this series for all 36 issues, and I think it's time for him to step-down and stick to Deadpool.

Avengers / Invaders #11 - Just. Fucking. End. Already!!!

Northlanders #17 - I really enjoyed this issue. Wood gave a nice little story of two warriors battling for honor, and brought in one of my favorite artists Vasilis Lolos on art. I haven't laid eyes on a single piece of Lolos' art since the unfinished Pirates Of Coney Island, and it remains just as beautiful as I remember it. Great stand alone issue, and well worth your money for the art alone.

Crossed #5 - I usually ignore reviewing this title just because of how horrible it is, but I just wanted to point out that this issue had like, no blood and gore whatsoever. It's pretty amazing that Ennis kept it at a PG rating for this one issue. I'm sure next issue will return to the NC-17 format.

Madame Xanadu #11 - She's now running a detective agency! Very interesting. I'm not going to lie, I enjoyed this issue and the turn it took.

More issues to be reviewed when I have the chance. Memorial Day really threw my week off, so I'm slowly adjusting.

What did YOU read and like??

Nova #25 - What a great issue! This has been a really gripping story arc and I'm glad it's been wraped up so damn well! It's so great to have Richard back as Nova Prime again with a new worldmind! I can't wait to see where this goes now! WAR OF KINGS BRING IT ON!
This new artist is great!!!

Hack/Slash #22 - Another substantial, solid issue with some decent artwork. A good storyline wrapped up here with a new one on the way! I'm glad Cassie isn't into girls any more, I'm glad she pretty much broke up with that girl and told her she 'wasn't that into girls'. Great characterisation on this issue. I enjoyed it!

Guardians of the Galaxy #14 - I jizzed in my pants. biggrin.gif

Still to read... Green lantern #41 & The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen 1910

It was nice to see him in a different outfit for a few issues, and since they brought him back so soon it didn't feel like it was going on forever. All the action at the end was great, and that blue & gold looks good on him. Can't wait to see the revenge of Ego in a few centuries.

I really need to get the first omnibus and start reading this series, because I've heard nothing but awesome things. You going to review it on your show?

I have both the Hack/Slash Omnibus', theyre great. If you can Cammy, try and pick them up! The second one is especially great. The first one has a few issues which have appearances from people such as Scottie Young and Robert Kirkman (yeah, these guys actually appear in the continuity of the comics smile.gif )
I will review that issue (and the previous 3) in my next show for you!

Interesting, I haven't got around to reading this yet. I always feel very reluctant to read these issues whenever I get them nowadays. It feels like it's loosing pace. But I want to stick with it because I have faith it will get awesome again once the Black Lanterns start showing up (Aquaman FFS!!!! Gotta wait around to check that shit out!!) smile.gif

So yeah, I'm sticking with it for now.. I kinda wish it would pick up the pace and get a move on though.

Totally, it's a pretty fun story too.

The other good thing about it, is that the artist usually changed every issue. So it's got a whole bunch of different artists!
I think Scottie Young even does some art somewhere himself.

I always like it when Tim Seeley himself does the artwork, he's a GREAT artist! (he has written every issue of Hack/Slash ever, and is the creator if you weren't sure).
