Lets get right to it, shall we?
Green Lantern #40 - Very fun issue filled with lots of Orange Lantern goodness. Very interesting and creepy to see how the Orange Lanterns add numbers to their ranks, and again poor Hal Jordan is having difficulties with both his rings. Maybe he'll get lucky and pass the blue ring off to Larfleeze!
Dark Avengers #4 - Well at least the Morgan Le Fay stuff is over with. Remind me NOT to screw with both Doom and Osborn at the same time! Now, onwards and upwards with new and exciting adventures! And please, no more delay with a crummy Sentry story next issue.
Justice Society of America #26 - Alas, it's sad to Geoff Johns leave this wonder title, but at least he left on a high note. And as much as I'd like to see Courtney without braces as much as the next guy, I thought it was a nice touch to leave them on. I'll give Buckingham and Willingham a shot and see if I still like it. I was mainly in it for Johns' stories and Ross' cover art.
Dark Reign: Cabal - The only story I really liked out of the five was Doctor Doom's story by Hickman. It was awesome to see him in the Hood's cloak, and both Emma and Loki as his slaves. Him and Namor sure make a dangerous team! The other stories were really 'meh' and uninteresting in my opinion. Nice cover art by Acuna though!
Superman #687 - I liked the villain they were battling against in the begining, but didn't care for the rest of the issue. Mon-El and The Guardian are just very uninteresting characters to me, that I hope Superman returns to his own title as soon as possible and rescue me from this bland series.
Uncanny X-Men #509 - It's official; I can't stand this title anymore. Issue after issue of Land's art is just unbearable to look at. Everyone looks the same, and it's like looking at a porn magazine with all the obvious poses swiped from actual magazines. Get a new artist on this book ASAP Marvel!
Final Crisis: Legion Of 3 Worlds #4 - Hahaha hurray! Final Crisis is almost over! But seriously, I loved this issue, and I could care less about the Legion! That's how good it is. Johns on story and the amazing George Perez on art makes this issue such an action-packed eye-candy of a read. One more issue left, then I can officially do the Final Crisis vs Secret Invasion episode I've been meaning to do.
Battle For The Cowl: The Underground #1 - Cool issue because we get to see a little bit more of the Penguin vs Two-Face beef. Riddler keeps running into old friends, and poor Catwoman can't seem to catch a break. This crossover is well worth your money, and doesn't stray from the main event.
Nova #24 - What a killer issue. You have Nova kicking Shi'ar ass, then to get their asses handed to them by Gladiator and the Shi'ar Imperial Guard!!! Wild stuff, and my prediction anout Robbie Rider is coming closer and closer to coming true. As for Quasar vs Ego next issue? Sign me up! Good War Of Kings crossover!
Battlefields: Tankies #1 - Interesting first issue. Ennis this time around introduces us to a squad of tanks, and how their armor is no match for the Germans tanks firepower! Didn't hook me quite yet, but there still are two issue to go. Definitely keep your eye out for this series.
Ultimate Wolverine Vs Hulk #5 - I love LOST, but please, keep the constant flash-forwards and flash-backs out of my comics! It made the story hard to follow at times. And at least She-Hulk's reputation of being a little-bit of a slut remains true in the Ultimate Universe.
Literals #1 - This was almost picked as a Fast Five. It was entertaining to see Kevin summon the different genres to help him create his new universe, and also to see Snow as being a dangerous driver. And what about Bigby? Can he transform into a Weremonkey now? Can't wait to see what happens next!
RASL #4 - I love Jeff Smith's art, but if it takes him this long on this series, then I'll kindly pass thanks. Wake me when the complete collected edition comes out, and I'll pick it up then. I can barely recall what happened last issue, let alone three issues ago.
Sherlock Homes #1 - Now here's something new and different! I found this issue to be a delightful surprise in a sea of capes. I was excited by the end of the issue, and I can't wait to see what happens next. I've got really high hopes for this series, and hope it can remain a strong contender in the months to come.
GI Joe: Origins #3 - 'Meh'. I'm enjoying the main and Cobra titles more.
Runaways #9 - This series should have stopped when BKV did. This issue was ridiculous, even by kid standards. Can the next creative team please step-up to the plate to keep me from crying? What did this title ever do to you to get this sort of treatment, Marvel?!
Teen Titans #70 - DC needs to get their shit together and stop using Jericho in every other Titans / Teen Titans arc. HE'S NOT COOL! He's goddamn annoying as hell!
Ms Marvel #38 - While I don't know much about Moonstone (apart that she has a gorgeous ass according to Marvel Boy in Dark Avengers #4), I know that I miss Reed writing Carol Danvers in this title. I'm sorry Marvel, but the Dark Avengers should stick to their own title, and stop bleeding into everyone's old solo books.
Avengers / Invaders #10 - Whenever I read this book, it feels like I'm trapped in time, and never moving forward. Remember when this series started? Iron Man was leading the Mighty Avengers and Secret Invasion was about to start. It's been coming out a snails-pace after said snail hit the bars, and is having a hard time getting home. I can see Marvel throwing-up the Mission Accomplished! banner when issue 12 finally comes out.
Astounding Wolf-Man #15 - He's had 3 chances to get out of prison, and yet he's still there. He needs a solid plan if he plans on finding his daughter. But as usual, in Kirkman we trust.
Proof #19 - I have to admit, I haven't read Proof in a while, so when I jumped into this issue I was easily confused on what was happening. I need to catch the last trade and hopefully things will make more sense.
Wonder Woman #31 - Just one more issue left, and we can move on to a brand new arc!
Phonogram: The Singles Club #2 - I don't know jack-shit about hipster Brit-pop music, so this entire issue went over my head. Go ahead and make fun of me because I don't "get it", I'll be over here enjoying my Daft Punk Alive! album followed by The Clash London Calling album.
Superman / Batman #59 - This issue unfortunately hurt my head. I had high hopes when this arc began, but a lot of the dialogue went through one ear and out the other and I had a hard time figuring out what was happening.
War Machine #5 - This title has been pretty mediore since issue one. But then again, I always saw War Machine as a more badass Cyborg.
Muppet Show #2 - If you loved the show, you'll enjoy this book I think. I was always a fan of Fozzie's lame jokes (explains my taste in humor), and had a fun time with this issue.
X-Men Origins Wolverine #1 - This is aimed at those people who just saw the movie this weekend, and need to sink their claws into a Wolverine title. It's the same origin story we've seen a thousand times, so save your money.
Conan The Cimmerian #10 - I enjoyed seeing Conan in his new position of power, and new armor that comes with it. This arc has been tons of fun, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a good and bloody barbarian tale. Dark Horse serves you up right.
Fringe #4 - I'm in love with the television show (totally fills in the hole that X-Files left), and this comic is on par with the entertainment factor. A must-buy when it comes out in trade!
Thunderbolts #131 - While it had it's moments, this final issue of the crossover was a bit of a let-down. Lets just have Daniel Way writing it in the future from now on, okay?
