Great job guys! I have not looked at this era of the JLA in years. I was still pretty new to comics and truly liked the lighter tone. Have these issues ever been collected? I think the first few issues could be a good fit for DC's new "Classic Library" editions. I am in the midst of reading the Kryptonite Nevermore story. In many ways, it is DC's version of what you guys are doing here.

Any thought on ever doing an episode of the JLA's Detroit era? I must admit I never looked at those issues. Are they as bad as some have claimed?

The Royal Flush Gang also showed up in issue 1 (at least I remember it was issue 1) of Booster Gold

Edit: Oops! Pants mentioned it before I did. That shows me for not listening to the whole show before I post.

I think that Max Lord was supposed to be a mix of Trump and Dollar Bill from Defenders (created by Dematteis I think).

Or I could be wrong.

They've finally got Dr. Light right in the current Justice League. She's a real c-word.

The Bwa-ha era league has been collected three times now...back in the late 80 as two trades, "A New Beginning" and The Gospel of Maxwell Lord". Just last year and this year as three hardbacks (VOL 1,2,3 and now again as trades. The first two have been solicited.

That is it as far as I know.

As for the Detroit era...I think that will come up at some point. WOW! I haven't read those issues in years and years. LOL.
Meanwhile, at the Hall of Justice...

A couple of fixes I have noticed in the newer trade version of this story:

- they recolored J'onn J'onzz' arm in issue 3 where before it appeared to be Superman

- In issue 4 on page 5 they corrected the label for Maxwell Lord on the tv screen.

Thy may have fixed those in the slipcase too, but I just noticed those as I was listening and going through the trade.

Hey guys, I just started listening to your show around Halloween and just found the Footnotes recently. I'm glad you are doing the JLI as that was one of the first DC series I read and is still one of my favorites.

You had mentioned not being sure how a Legion flight ring (and Brainiac 5's force field belt) ended up in the 25th century for Booster to steal when the Legion is from the 30/31st century. Well I forget the exact issues it was explained in but I believe it was Booster Gold (1st series) 6 thru 8 that it happened in. Ultra Boy, Brainiac 5 and I think Chameleon Boy came back to the 20th century for some reason (I think because of Booster), met Booster, fought him and teamed up. They ended up saving the live of the President and Brainiac 5 gave the President his ring and force belt. I'm pretty sure he didnt get them back because in recent appearances when Booster discuses his origin doesn't he say he took "a ring and force field belt an alien once used to save the Presidents life"?

Anyway I hope number 5 comes soon. Thanks for doing this book.

I read those issues. So he just steals the ring and belt that he wore in the 80s that eventually wound up in his time? Oh no I've gone cross-eyed. lol. I musta forgot that bit of information from our Book of the Month episode on Booster Gold.

We are getting back to our other titles in Footnotes soon now that we finished Secret Wars, hopefully one new one a week.
