About 2 weeks ago I attended a conference which included a 3 day seminar on war comics. Several of the organizers were from Ghent. I truly learned a lot about Belgium comics. I was most suprised that one of the more popular Franco-Belgium comics is a historical comedy set during the US Civil War. If anyone is interested in contacting these scholars let me know.

i've checked the cinebooks pdf catalogue (2009 spring) and there are lots of nice series. billy and buddy, blake and mortimer, the bluecoats, buck danny, iznogood, lucky luke, yakari , thorgal or yoko tsuno are classics like tinitin or asterix are. all the +15 series i saw on the catalogue are excellent ones and should be checked ...

Especially because it's impossible to find any other podcasts talking about BD.
It seems the podcasting culture hasn't really reached the french comic fans since not even in french there's anything similar to this.
Bryan, you asked about sugestions. Here's a couple:
- How about "The Killer" by Matz & Jacamon? You seem to like it and I have to agree that it's very good;
- a couple of american bloggers are writing really good reviews to everything released by Humanoids\DC some years ago. You can find some interesting info here: http://joglikescomics.blogspot.com/
From what they already talked about I would suggest "The Incal".

you're right, there are no podcast about bd even in french (or i don't know where to find them).
there are some local radio and national radio programs speaking about bd (week reviews or something like that).
there's a tv program every week called 'un monde de bulles', half an hour dedicated to bd ...
there's also a page on a national tv station site dedicated to bd. there are lots of interviews (text and videos), coverages, previews, etc ...

Thanks for the tips. I already knew "Un Monde de Bulles" but that other link was filled with great interviews.

the translation will be of poor quality but i hope it can help you to understand the great lines and meanings. i hope you'll modify and rework my translation in order to have a better quality one (with the right expressions at the right place) and make it available to anyone that want it.

Sebastien, could I recommend that you try getting involved with ComixInflux? I'm sure they'd be happy to help you edit your Grand Duc translation if you post it over there.

I just looked on the site and couldn't find it anywhere. Does it have to go through an approval process or something?
