That would be very cool. If DC doesn't want to do it, we could just make it a feature of the website.

HA!

Second episode Jamie gets a smackdown by Bryan over mispronounciation. I eagerly await the the Pimp hand to make an appearance in an upcoming episode.

For me, this Justice League didn't really take off until Adam Hughes took over the art chores. Now, I love Maguire but Hughes was just so much better with expressions and the babes, of course.

This one I pronounced correctly, and I will say the J in the hammer till the day I die

I remember listening to the episode live, starting maybe 10 minutes in, and having a conversation with a couple people on the forums about the variant, I kept waiting for you guys to bring it up. And waited. And waited...

Not knowing you guys had covered it at the very start...

I'm in two minds over the existance of OHOTMUs and Who's Whos. I think the Bryan thinking that the lady Dr Light being in the Fearsome Five is a good example of why they need to be avoided, if memory serves Marvel have also had problems with the OHOTMU staff filling in gaps where the gaps were intentionally left by writers to fill in later. The problem being that some fans take the guides' words over what actually happened in the comics.

On the other hand, writers like Warren Ellis and Brian Reed have obviously found them (and the marvelunapp site that a lot of the current OHOTMU staff came from) incredibly helpful in finding characters they can give a brush up and reintroduce (but not necessarily continue any pre-existing stories).

I think the original OHOTMUs and Who's Whos went someway to ghettoising comics to the domain of fans who obsess more about the quantifiables of superheroics and how continuity fits together, rather than the quality of the stories themselves. And that's even worse when a significant portion of writers are also those sort of fans. It can create a close-minded inflexibility in both readers and writers, not to mention editors.

I can see the good intentions behind the original Who's Who, but the continuity mess Crisis on Infinite Earths created wasn't really helped any by those books, and can't see it helping with the current state of DC's comics either.

I think their place need to be as a directory of characters, rather than sticking plaster on continuity or the superhero equivalents of the Guinness Book of Records and sports stats books. DC's Secret Origins (both the 80s series and the 52 add-ons) is probably the happy medium, acting as a directory of characters and parsing the information with sequential art, rather than dry prose.

Smerdyakov is the bastard fourth son in The Brothers Karamazov. A twisted soul, which is perhaps why Dematteis likes the name.

Ha! Perfect name for the Chameleon, the bastard half-brother of Kraven the Hunter! Thanks, Nick, I think you're spot-on with that observation.

I would so be down with an online Who's Who and will gladly make time to be a research bitch for it.

Oh, and the ep was good too. The little blue guy: Blue Jay and he was taken captive as well. He was recently in the "Lord Havok" mini which was better then you'd think.
