When I asked the same question of the editor, I got a response that wasnt encouraging, its on life support and they seem to be paging Dr Kevorkian.

Ah, Jamie D... you tickle mah funneh bone!

As much as it pains me to say it, it pained me even more to continue keeping Comics Now! #4 and #5 on pre-order with DCBS, and I finally cancelled them both last week. I've recently cut my DCBS orders in half, and it's more difficult than ever to justify keeping money tied up on books that are late, much less books that are late and that, based on a number of factors and indications, I can't reasonably assume will even be published at all.

*sigh*

Kaptain, thanks for the dancing bananas that put on a show.

That's a damn shame. I'll keep my pre-order up for 4 at DCBS until I hear for sure it's dead, but I'll probably hold off on anything beyond that.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you guys...

Until I see a post here: http://www.iwantmycomicsnow.com/ about CN's future, I remain optimistic.

I don't care anymore. Why should I care for a product from people who don't care for their readership. They don't need (or want) my support.

I regard issues 1-3 as a kind of experiment that had lots of potential. What a waste...

The lack of updates is a bit suprising.

Surprising? In a world with Kevin Smith All Star Batman and Robin and a million other late projects?

Anyway: updates are predicated on something to report. There may just be no certainty, yet, and so any reports are premature.

(The website, though, is hopelessly out of date, I see.)

There is an update from Bryan in the latest episode of CGS, #597, starting around the 42nd minute of the show.

I would rather you hear it from him than speak for him, so I would suggest you check out the episode for the announcement of the end of the magazine, the reasons behind it, and the mention of a potential new project that people from the Ape side have cooking for the future.

And, as Bryan said, on the show, thank you very much for the support that was shown for the first three issues, and for the continued interest that so many have shown.

Less than you'd get for Miracleman, I'd guess.

Now the big question is when will DCBS apply the credit?

I would imagine there is some processing time on Diamond's end? I'm not sure. That is really a question for DCBS.

Irony of ironies, the new Nova comic book lasted longer than Comics Now! magazine.

Sorry to hear it go. I really enjoyed the issues that I got (1 & 3). For a personal 'Best Of', I really enjoyed the Crisis Article, the history on Hellblazer, the Golden Age segments, and the piece on Decompression. All were very well written and very informing.

Hopefully a project with Ape is in the works and the same writers will lead the charge with it.

How about Comics Now! online? That should be where the magazine continues...
