I'm reading a good chunk of the books Vertigo is putting out, although there are a few I want to read that I'm not ("House of Mystery" and "Air," for example). Mike, what didn't you like about "Vinyl Underground?"
"Bomb Queen" is so very, very wrong, but I can't stop reading it. And feeling like I need to take a shower when I'm done.
BSG is the best show on TV. I've said it before and I'll say it again. As for "Heroes," I'd be really surprised if it came back next year.
Finally, Barb, it was great to hear you on a show, especially one where you're recording it on purpose and not because you happen to get picked up by accident while you're shouting at the TV.

I have started reading more War of Kings and am all caught up in Guardians of the Galaxy. I am really loving Marvel Space. I am now reading the older Annihilation Conquest stuff and it is fanastic.
For Vinyl Underground I really did not enjoy the story or the way it was written. There were some aspects I liked but overall it was very hard to get through it because I just was not interested in any of the characters or what they were doing.
Bomb Queen is really nasty and fun. Just when you think they can't get any worse you read on and sure enough you will find something.
We are loving BSG and Heroes. There is so much good TV on and on DVD right now.
Thanks for listening Luke.

I am a lucky bastard.
Sylar needs to kill the disease. He is our only hope from having all of these time jumpers mess up our future.

"Guardians of the Galaxy" is Marvel's best book right now, with "Nova" a very close second.

Thanks Luke! Glad I could try to improve my reputation as a loud foul-mouthed sports fanatic.

Hey Mike, thanks for the kind words. I love reading novels and that's why I like the trade format for reading comics. I do much better with big chunks of reading instead of being limited to just a few pages at a time.
I'm not sure why we fell behind in the Potter movies but I think Mike even bought them and we still didn't watch them. Who knows? To tell you the truth, I've never been into that genre of book. I like horror, mystery, Grisham, Crichton, crime dramas, and stuff like that. I would like to read The Dark Tower series from Stephen King, though. Have you read those books?

hey Barb. Yeah I read the Dark Tower books. They started out real well, but honestly, they totally lost my interest in the end. The last 2 or 3 books are downright boorrrring and really go off the rails at one point. I was really let down by those. If you want an awesome dark fantasy in that vein, I would totally recommend The Talisman by King/Straub(2 of my fav horror writers doing a collaboration) if you haven't already read it. . I also dig crime dramas. Have you read any Jeffrey Deaver? He writes these really fantastic crime novels/mysteries that always have super twists that you never see coming. They're really fast reads cause you can't put them down. He wrote The Bone Collector which was a movie with Denzel and Angelina Jolie. If you get any of his books, pick up the Lincoln Rhyme novels - that's the name of the detective that Denzel played in the movie. Another fav of mine is Nelson DeMille (probably my all time fav modern novelist)who also writes great books and a few crime novels with a detective named John Corey, but any of his books are really really good. The General's Daughter was one of his that a movie was based on. I'm sure you've seen his books at Barnes and Nobel...they're everywhere, like Grisham. I'm up to my eyeballs in fantasy right now, but I'm gonna take a break soon to read DeMille's new one. He's probably the only author that I'm willing to shell out for the hardback.

The Inhumans you were so on track...it is freakin' fantastic...I had to fast forward through your War of Kings stuff because I have not read that yet (waiting for more issues so I can have a good long read with it)...but in my opinion the cosmic stuff in both Marvel and DC is their best stuff going right now.
And then...OMG yes it is...The Goddess that is Barb Myers on a podcast...I got so excited I had to pull over to calm down (my passengers were a little pissed even after I explained ...go figure) I am sorry Mike ...I love you but you two together... its like suddenly there is jelly with the peanutbutter...a whole new flavor sensation to wake up my earbuds
Anyway...all in all a great episode...

Thanks for listening Mike. I agree Barb is my better half. The LadyCop was a great story that we will never find out if she finds the killer. The PSA piece is pretty much just the VD portion of this book which is like three panels. The rest of the topics were not PSA.
Secret War Inhumans was fantastic and I must say that Kingbreaker is pretty darn good too. Did you read War of Kings Saga (free)? That was so great and comic company's should do this more often. I am going back and reading the Conquest stuff that I missed. Guardians of the Galaxy just keeps getting better and better.
