The Umbrella Academy: Dallas #3 - Destruction has two names; Hazel and Cha-Cha.
Sure they look cute and cuddly, but once you get to know them and discover what they do for a living, they are absolutely terrifying. And whatever you do, don't feed them sugar!
What can I say that hasn't already been said about this series? I've loved The Umbrella Academy since it's first introduction on Free Comic Book Day all those many years ago, and halfway through the second volume, it has shown no signs of slowing down. Unfortunately, many people see the name 'Gerard Way' and judge the book by it's cover, not giving it a second thought. Those people need to be rounded-up, shot, burned, and fed to mountain lions.
This series is nothing but good, zany, superhero fun!
It's not just the writing, it's the art too. Gabriel Ba really brings it to this series and makes you want to gobble-up every page. Especially in this issue where we get a beautiful black and white heaven, with only the one character in color. And Hazel and Cha-Cha? They look too cute to be killers. They look like a mix between Reservoir Dogs and Sesame Street!
The art, the story, the colors, they all blend together beautifully to bring Way's masterpiece to life. I would highly recommend this series to anyone who loves comics. Because it doesn't matter if you're a Marvel or DC person, this series definitely has something for everyone.
Oh and by the way, Bob Dylan even has a cameo.
Final Crisis #7 - See this thread.
New Avengers #49 - Luke, you scared me there for a second buddy! Very fun issue, glad to see the band back together. And like I called it, the next issue is double-sized for lots of battling action.
Batman #685 - Ahh, finally a Morrison-free Batman! I really liked all the back-stabbing in this issue, and the actions of Selina Kyle. And the end of the issue? It's only a matter of time before he gets out again.
Nova #21 - I don't blame Richard one bit. Something seems awfully fishy, and things are proceeding too quickly, like the passing of the Patriot Act. It's cool to see Ego being put to good use, and I'm really enjoying this title because it reminds me so much of Green Lantern and Green Lantern Corps.
Final Crisis: Revelations #5 - Well, that was certainly an interesting conclusion. I think I'll sweep this under the rug with Final Crisis #7.
Justice Society of America #23 - It's always nice to see Black Adam again. And for the current team roster? I'm fine the way it is. Sadly, when Geoff Johns leaves this book, so will I.
Northlanders #14 - It was very cool to get some bloody battle sequences, but it was sort of lacking on story this time around. I'm not worried though, because the final two issues are leading up to a BANG!
Punisher: War Zone #6 - It ended okay. Sure it was no Punisher MAX or Welcome Back, Frank, but it did what it needed to I guess. Garth, sit back, relax, and take a break from Punisher for a while. Let the creative juices come to you when they're ready, don't try and force them.
Wonder Woman #28 - Man, I guess the biggest problem in the DCU is getting Wonder Woman a good writer. The art always looks fine, but it's the stories that put this title in the crapper.
X-Force #11 - I loved the two different art styles, but like Wolverine, I was getting bored with the actual story. Lets get some action up in this bitch, chop chop!
Superman #684 - Not good for Supes. With you-know-who back in charge of the Kryptonian Army with a full pardon, I can only see bad things in Superman's future.

Was Superman #684 a good read then, or are you just talking about the plot line being not good?
I'll get my picks on saturday when I get my books.
A huge stack of comics for me this week

Daredevil #115 - I liked this ending to the Lady Bullseye arc. The action was rampant, and the art looked great! It would have been interesting to see Murdock in that position of power if he accepted it.
Echo #9 - Dream, or future visions? This book continues to be a fun read, with Moore's beautiful black and white pages aplenty.
Proof #16 - I really hope Image puts out some beautiful hardcover treatment for this series, because it shows no signs of slowing down. I'm sure years from now it'll be mentioned in the same breath as Invincible, Savage Dragon, and Noble Causes.
Astounding Wolf-Man #12 - It's such a treat that this series is coming out on time nowadays, because I'm really enjoying the path Kirkman decided to take. That Invincible crossover was a nice touch as well!

Here are some of my reviews, more to come though of books which I havnt read yet.
Nova #21 - Woah, this was big stuff! Didn't see that one coming! Im glad Rich did what he didnt, youre right Cammy, something did seem fishy. But I dunno.. I can see the good in what Worldmind was saying, but then I could see the good in what Rich believed in.
Daredevil #115: Rushed ending. Pfft. Oh, and Tigress and Black Tarantula could never subdue Iron Fist. Disappointing. Good story arc all in all though, just this issue was a bit poor.
Avengers: The Initiative #21: Totally awesome! Ramos' artwork tops it off brilliantly!
JSA #23:... not so good. The art was lame, just get Eaglesham back on it for fucks sake! Good to see Black Adam back though, but it seemed like an anti-climax to me.. not enough of the JSA in this either.. why change the team? I geuss making it smaller would make it easier to follow, but it was fine as it was.

I guess I like more of a trimmed JSA roster so everyone has equal amount of face-time, and it doesn't feel forced. After a while, it was getting somewhat irritating keeping track of everyone.
