Batman #681 - Confusing from the get-go, the whole Batman R.I.P. saga in my opinion was an absolute train-wreck. Grant Morrison has a reputation of being a brilliant, over-the-top writer, but there are stories like this one and Final Crisis that just leave you scratching your head at the end of the day. I thought I almost understood what was going on last issue, but as soon as I dove headfirst into this final chapter, all hope of understanding went right out the window.
If it wasn't for the Alex Ross covers, I would have dropped this at issue two.
Now that Morrison has had his fun, can we have some enjoyable Batman stories now?

Here are my reviews. Short n Sweet because there are a fair few which I read this week!
Batman #681:
A well written ending to what has been a good story arc in my opinion. As good as the issue and story may have been, he new character decisions in this book sucked. Mainly that Nightwing cannot be the new Batman, Batman's character was all about strong morals, morals which Nightwing does not have. Nightwing has screwed up morals which would soil Batman's name. If this means the whole mythos of Batman's character is changing, screw it, Im done.
6/10
JSA: Kingdom Come Special: The Kingdom #1 (ONE SHOT):
This was outstanding, this was also the better of the 3 JSA one shots to have come out recently, this issue really moved the story forward with some awesome characterisation moments and some great new dramatic story twists! Great art and Im glad to finally see this Thy Kingdom Come story moving along finally, 'cos however good it was, it was starting to get bogged down in one spot for a while.
Now we've got some movement back again, this series is back up to being my favourite comic on the shelves! No question.
9/10
Umbrella Academy: Dallas #1:
I cannot believe its here right in front of me and that Ive just read it! The first volume was amazing and from the looks of things here, this second volume is gonna be just as sweet! A brilliant first issue just setting some grounds for the new story to take place, with some great catchup on the team, humourous dialouge, sad moments (Pogo
8/10
Runaways #4:
A good issue in terms of dialogue and character building, but Terry Moore really has to start to get things moving. Nothing happened in this issue accept chitter chatter! Ramos' art was starting to look rushed as well, I hope he was just having a bad spell because I dont want my favourite comic book artist to start producing bad work..
From the last panel though, it looks like next issue should get things moving, which is good.
5.5/10
Daredevil #113:
Absolutaly awesome, so many plot twists that I almost started jumping up and down in my chair! I would explain everything that went on but there was too much awesom stuff happening to explain. Basically it just amazes me how Ed Brubaker can fit all these awesome nuggets of golden surprises into a single issue while managing to maintain a great and well-balanced seriousness to the book without anything feeling as if it was overdone.
Awesome charactisation in here as well, each character is so unique and different. This issue was simply an amazing issue with some awesome artwork and great action!
Such a dramatic book with some awesome character cameos and plot twists.
8.5/10
Thor: Man Of War #1 (ONE SHOT):
A fairly decent thor one shot, absolutaly sexy artwork to say the least in both of the two parts of the book. There was some pretty drastic plot changes to Thor's world in this issue, I personally thought the second half of this issue was strange. Odin wearing The Destroyers armor??
But the first half was written very very well, Matt Fraction made up for his flop of an issue last week which was Uncanny X-Men #504 with this issue.
All in all though, it was the second half of this issue which didnt so much annoy me, but it just made me question some of the somewhat 'odd' decisions made for the future of this book.
Awsome front cover though. Rock on Marko Djurdevic!
5/10
Secret Invasion: X-Men #4 (of 4):
Thank heavens this pointless mini series is over. While this mini had been on and off, good and bad from issue to issue, I will say it ended on an okay note. All in all, this series was just okay and nothing more than that. I just cant stop asking my self if this mini series was needed though, it seemed all a completely pointless. The dialouge had got better in this issue and you could at least connect to the characters in some way or another and the artwork was outstanding (the artwork by Cary Nord in this mini series was one thing I liked about it from start to end).
An okay issue, an okay ending to this okay mini series.
Did I mention this was 'okay'?
The Terry Dodson covers were nice to look at.
Issue = 5/10
Series on the whole = 4/10

I heartily agree. There's always that one pointless event mini-series, and this time it was X-Men by far. Just leave the X-Men alone, and only let Fraction & Brubaker write.

I thought Daredevil was okay; they're setting us up for something awesome I'm sure, but I thought it was just a set-up issue. Cool art as usual, especially those rain shots.
