Action Comics #871 - Haven't really been enjoying Robinson's Superman stuff, but I'm a lot more comfortable with Johns'. The Zod followers could be a big problem if there's a lot more of them out there.
Anna Mercury #4 - I've really found myself enjoying the action sequences more than the scientific explanation of things. I get it that Ellis loves Sci-Fi, but sometimes it can get mundane. After the next and final issue, I'd sure love to see some Anna Mercury costumes at Con next summer.
B.P.R.D. - The Warning #5 - Needs more Lobster Johnson. This mini didn't really get me excited like the others did. Hopefully the next mini can get my more invested. Also, Dark Horse, if you're listening, B.P.R.D. Library Editions. Think about it, call me back.
Batman: Cacophony #1 - What a fun issue! I really enjoyed Onomatopoeia's scenes, and loved it every time a sound effect was mimicked. The art complimented the story nicely, and can't wait to see what the Joker is going to be up to.
Detective Comics #850 - Wow! Pretty awesome issue, despite it being an R.I.P. crossover. I was wondering "Why doesn't Batman have a cape?" in that one scene, and was gleefully surprised when you-know-what happened next. Can't believe he walked away from that.
Fables #78 - Hmmm. I'll need to go back and read it again. Was slightly confused at some parts.
Green Lantern Corps #30 - Cool developments both with Kryb and the Zamarons. I have a Sinestro shirt, I have a Red Lantern shirt, now I want a Star Sapphire shirt. I hope it doesn't come in only ladies sizes.
Justice Society of America: Kingdom Come Special - Superman #1 - Whatta mouthful. This could very well be my pick this week. I was surprised when I learned only a few scenes in the issue were actually painted, while the rest where only pencils & inks from Ross, not his usual form. Still brilliant art nonetheless, and the story was very, very moving. I really feel sorry for this Superman, and hope that things will end well for him. Plus the extra stuff in the back? Well worth the $3.99 price tag.
Nightwing #150 - Cool cover. Grayson really needs to take a week-off and recover. Look at that gorgeous, but brutally scarred body of his. Yeesh! Good week for Tomasi.
Wolverine #69 - Crazy shit goes down, folks, and slowly but surely we're getting the old Logan back. Thank goodness they have that amazing Spider-car, right? And I wouldn't mind their version of Mount Rushmore to be our version too.

Picks for 11/12/08 - Spoilers! Good week for both Tomasi & Ellis

I'll get a hold of it as soon as I get home from work. I'll make sure it goes up before today's episode does.

JSA Kingdom Come Special: Superman 1:
A good issue, I think Alex Ross' writting was a bit weak in places but the general plot definatly got me excited and you can cleary see Alex Ross' intentions with this issue, so I'll let him off
!
His artwork though was absolutaly outstanding! Mwahh!
Im really excited for more JSA awesomeness!
Simon Dark #14:
Another great issue, some awesome charaisation and a really tense new plot is started here! I loved the conversations in this book, some great relationship stuff!
This book has gotten so great lately now that we know more about these characters.. so now we can sit back and enjoy the dark and wacky world of Simon Dark unfold before our very eyes! I love this book right now, it was a bit 'lost' to start out with, but these last few issues prove that this series has finally found it's feet!
Great art as always by Scott Hampton!
Batman: Cacophony #1:
Another brilliant book this week from DC! I really enjoyed this issue a heck of a lot! Kevin Smith did a great job here getting the dialouge spot on, and its that dialouge which really drives the book forward making it such a thrilling read!
Some great plot twists and turns I didnt see coming, which made it more fun to read... obviously
The artwork was okay.. not exactly perfect for the book's crazy nature Id have said, but good nonetheless.
The last page where the Joker drives off with his goons in the van and says "Get it now?" was soo awesome! Very Heath Ledger-esque and I loved it!
A really great read! The opening bit with Deadshot was done brilliantly too!
