"DC declined to say if the series’ cancellations were due to sales, or if the three titles would be replaced by three new titles in 2009. "
Sounds like they are really doing something with Bruce Wayne afterall.

EDIT: Wasn't there an item in a recent Lying In The Gutters about this? With Nightwing becoming Red Robin and Robin becoming Batman & Robin, or something along those lines?

I have been in an internal debate about that $3.99 price tag. That very well push me right into waiting for trades.

Just what i was thinking. I can see Tim Drake as Batman, and Damian as Robin. I just can see Dick being Batman, even though that is what I would rather have.

Yeah that kind of got me excited that something good was coming. Didio is saying they want to tighten things up, and this might all be part of that. Very interesting.

Well, this is what's got me from being too upset about it just yet, the fact that we don't know WHY and what's in store jsut yet. still, upon reading the article, my heart sank a little and i became sad.

My feelings exactly. Hell, I have been reading Nightwing longer than I have known my Wife!

It'd take something pretty drastic to get Tim into the cowl i think, as that's always seemed (to me) to be kind of the opposite of what he wants. well, not the opposite but... certainly not his end goal anyway. but then, drastic is certainly what things have been in Robin as of late, and comparing Robin to Nightwing currently, it does seem Tim's been stepping up to fill the gap a bit more so than Dick. not to say Dick's been slouching jsut that Robin...i don't know how to put it, it just feels like he's being led mor ein that diretcion than Nightwing.
all this rambling to say, you could well be right.

heh heh. yes...
these three books have fleshed out the Bat-verse quite well and, for me, been more entertaining than the actual batman title as of late.

If it is your own speculation, then go for it, but if you are quoting potentially leaked, potentially-real-spoiler stuff, please tag it. Thanks.

I am just guessing myself. I have been making a point not to read anything about the plot of RIP
