Final Crisis: Rage Of The Red Lanterns - My God. I knew this was going to be my own pick of the week, but I didn't realize how awesome it was going to be! Green Lantern has been great since Rebirth, and we all have Johns to thank for this non-stop thrill ride! Four different types of Lanterns in this book?! Fuckin' Hell!
Hellboy: In The Chapel Of Moloch #1 - A nice little Hellboy story just in time for Halloween. And the best part? It's both written and drawn by Mignola! It's nice to see him drawing again, for I've been craving his art for a while now. And I feel kinda cool for getting the Goya reference thanks to my Art History class last semester.
Avengers: The Initiative #18 - Marvel truly has been doing a wonderful job keeping all fifty state initiatives in play. Everything from the giant fights in each state, to Cloud9 being one stone-cold killer!
Astonishing X-Men: Ghost Boxes #1 - Very interesting idea. I enjoyed the second story a little bit more for the whole "steam punk" vibe. I'd be really interested seeing more stories from that particular team.
Marvel 1985 #6 - It was a nice little end to this mini-series. The art was just gorgeous, and I found myself staring in amazement at some of those fight scenes. I just kind of felt let-down these last couple of issues. I'm not saying I didn't like the series, I guess I just was expecting something different after the first two issues.
Thor #11 - Baulder, stop being seduced by Loki, dammit! Interesting scene at Capt's memorial, dunno how some of the Marvel purists are going to react to it. Other than that, JMS has continued to do a great job on this series.

Secret Invasion X-Men #3:
After last issue sucking hugely, Mike Carey (my favourite X-Men writter) comes back on top form here and is blasting awesomeness all over each and every page! Not to mention Ma Seuplueda who is also doing very much the same thing as Mike Carey, blasting awesomeness all over each and every page, but with his artwork instead!
The writing is brilliant, it was consistant and gripping and the dialouge held together firming making this a strong and enjoyable read! There was one panel in which the dialouge had me in stiches with a certain Jean Grey reference!!
The artwork is very very good, much better than in the previous issues, it seems Ma has really got the human anatomy (body espec) down to a seriously cool fine art! He still needs to work on his human faces a bit, but otherwise, most of the faces were good in this issue and didnt look like mishaped potatoes like they did in the 2 prior issues.
What I love most about the art, is the awesome atmosphere it sets, its really hazey and mystical and works hand in hand with the special focus on skrull religion and magic Carey writes about.
A real comeback for this short mini series, definatly pick this up! You dont need to have read the 2 previous issues to get whats going down in THIS issue either, so its easy going on new readers!
Avengers The Initiative #18:
I have to say unfortunatly, I didnt care for this issue as much as I have done with other issues, and this is one of the titles in my pull list I always look most forward to reading, so I was a tad dissapointed here.
Still, here is a very brief review with no real spoilers.
This book was pretty decent, not as good as some of the more recent issues of this series have been, but still enjoyable and it moves along at a steady pace making for an enjoyable read!
The change of artist was a bit weird, I dont think it fitted to well here in terms of going hand in hand with the artwork, but hey.. whatever, lol. A good issue, although not as good as it perhaps could/should have been.
Hellboy: In The Chapel Of Molloch #1:
Yes yes yes! Mike Mignola has finally given us a comic in which he himself has done the interior artwork! Thank you Mike, thank you so so much! This little one shot was pretty decent as well, it was incredibally simple and very easy reading, but nonetheless highly enjoyable and VERY atmospheric!
Top marks Dark Horse!
