I want to throw this out there...

Is it wrong at a con to get a creator to sign a large stack of books, i know its allowed but is it ethically right.

For me i think really about 6-7 is pushing it

Some creators have their CBLDF collection available. If there is a large stack to sign then throw CBLDF a bone. I would be annoyed but that's just me. I would like the creators to ask them to personalize all dozen comics then the guy couldn't ebay so readily, haha.

I was there and the 90 minute ticket wait made me want to leave but I had 3 kids in tow. They enjoyed the deals on some toys and freebie items from creators. Pants was right on describing the horrible layout and total inability to go through backissue bins due to overcrowding.

Next year I will buy tickets in advance and only go on Sunday. I think Baltimore might strongly consider a 3rd day. They seem to be leaning to more movie related crud.

I fully planned on getting some hardcovers signed. But, I literally spent all convention in sketch lines and running around like mad. I did get Calafiore, Cooke, Jones, Raney, and Johns to get original pages signed, though.

Funny you mention that. I was picking up my sketch from Ron Garney (awesome, awesome guy) on Sunday and a mentally challenged man came to him at his 1:00 signing. He dropped what had to have been 30+ comics for Ron to sign. About 10 in, the man was asked who these were for and he replied, "Me." At this point the area around the table became tense because there had to have been at least 8 copies of three different books. I think Ron called it. This guy was asked by a dealer/vendor/con goer/etc. to get as many as possible. I was tempted to follow him but decided against it. About twenty minutes later, I saw him in Bendis' line with what was a significantly bigger pile.

I never knew this happened or was evidently so prevalent. Anyone else?

My local town fair used to have a lego section in there "arts and craft" judging and i won every year, you had to make you own lego desgin, I made a time machine & Jurassic Park & mining village.

I left the con at noon because of the crowd and the crappy layout of the floor. It was a very bad con experience for me, and I'll definitely think twice before going next year.

For another PoV on the con, check out episode 84 of the Drawerbox.

What was the running time on this episode? I'm showing 1:05:57 and it kinda ends with Bryan in mid-sentence. It was during the ending wrap up anyway with the music playing and the "thank you" portion of the show, so no big deal... it was just sort of abrupt.

I was a huge lego guy when I was a kid. I never spent all my time on any one type of set. My mom just dug up all my old sets and brought them down to the house but they are in a million pieces although I do have all the manuals. I remember distinctly having a pirate ship, a knights set with a wagon, a police boat and plane, a misson to mars land rover, and a airliner set with a large plane, helicopter, and van set. I am sure there were more but that is what I remember. I spent hours in my room building these sets so I know where you are coming from Brian. My wife bought be a Batman Lego set this past winter and it is proudly displayed in my comic room!

That's right. For some reason the recording just cut off right as we were wrapping up.

Bryan,

I know you've been to Europe before, did you by chance ever go to go to Legoland in Germany, the UK or Denmark? I've seen my share of things in travels, but those places are amazing. You see the pics online and they are crazy but it does no justice.

I was just on Lego's website. In Europe they have Lego Viking sets! How awesome is that? Is there anyone in Europe who can get their hands on these things? I would love to have the small set (#7015) Viking Warrior and Fenris Wolf.

Anyone want to help a brother out?

I got some Viking sets from bricklink. There are a few places in the US to order them.
