Listening to the ep now. Sounds great.

****

OK. Just finished listening. Great episode. One can just feel the love and giddy toy geekness flow out of the computer speakers.
I would strongly recommend that everyone check out the MegoMuseum. Full of Mego love and harmony. They also have forums dedicated to current toys, comics, horror movies, ect.

Regarding re-released Mego figures. Along with Star Trek, the Knights, Robin Hood, Pirates, & Monsters have been released by various small companies. I've also seen properties like The Brady Bunch done using Mego style bodies.

If Benjamin does make it back, I would love to hear his thoughts on the "other" Mego lines (Knigths, Robin Hood, Pirates). I'm also curious about his thoughts on Mego Customizing.

Just added this ep to the queue. Can't wait to listen. My uncles had Mego's and I was always jealous because they wouldn't let me play with them when I was a kid.

Is it just me, or does "Mego 8 inch" sound rather suggestive?

I remember having the Scotty one from the Star Trek line, and also having the Enterprise play set where you could make your figures "beam" away. I remember thinking how cool it was.

Great show guys! I'm excited and curious to hear you talk about some of the NON comic related toys. Can't wait to hear two grown men talking about My Little Ponies! laughingsmiley.gif

I managed to find some pictures of my Mego figures from way back when:

This is them standing on a table.

This is them after a battle.

This is my brother holding up Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman.

And here's me and my brother. He's holding Green Arrow.

Hey all,
Palitoy at the Mego Museum has given a link to Super City.

http://megomuseum.com/megolibrary/preserva.../supercity1.jpg

To get the entire article, once the new webpage is up simply change the number at the end of the file. For example, the number in the new page will be supercity1. To get the next page simply change it to supercity2. You'll do this all the way to page supercity28.

It's a bit awkward, but worth the effort.

That is just simply incredible. You all have no idea how crazy I felt all those years and no one ever remembered the plans at all.

Wonderful link, thanks so much!

Meanwhile, at the Hall of Justice...

Isn't that great stuff? I didn't even know about these plans. The funny thing is I've been thinking about a Superman Mego custom (I know it's redundant given that Mego made a great Superman toy) and wanted to make a Phone Booth box to display it in. Hot damn if there isn't plans for a phone booth with the Super City stuff.

Never had any Megos as a kid, but I still loved the show. Can't wait to hear shows on the old MOTU, or GI Joe, not to mention the superhero stuff out now (Marvel Legends, DC Universe). Keep up the great work, guys.

The episode was great. The only Mego I have is a Hulk. I had never heard of them until reading Toyfare and the Twisted Mego Theatre (which I felt a mention was sorely lacking from the episode).

I would love for the GI Joe episode to get served up again. I wasn't allowed the Joes as a kid as they didnt portray those injured from war. And that episode brought up all those yearnings for the toys I had as a kid.
