i thought the marvel stump the rios question was a little unfair being a movie adaptation comic and not an actual "Marvel" comic. if i was jamie i'd have cried foul, but if you guys found it fine thats cool cause you make the rules. Griffen question was good one though

Great episode guys with a lot of good topics. As usual, not just the normal "Artist interview" - that's why I like your interviews so much.
I think the situation for American comicfans who want to read a lot of European stuff is similiar to us wanting to read American indie stuff - they are very hard to obtain and without knowing someone who might ship you the books, you'll miss most of it.
That's a sad situation and I believe won't change that much soon.

I bought all the Humanoids stuff and those Dark Horse/Bonelli Dylan Dog, Nathan Never and Martin Mystery novels.
Not to mention Jean Giraud/Moebius, Blacksad and 2000AD.
And here I thought I was one of those ignorant yank fan boys.

The writer he mentioned as being his favorite is Alejandro Jodorowsky... and I absolutely agree that his writing on Metabarons and other projects from Humanoid Publishing were absolutely fabulous... different, but definitely phenomenal IMO.
I encourage more people to try out at least the Humanoid books to broaden their reading perspective... It's kinda sad that their reprint agreement with DC never really worked out.

1. What the hell is Simone doing surfing the forums of Newsarama when his ass should be here.
2. If people really want to enjoy some European comics, there are always a TON in the Indy section of Previews. You just have to dig a little bit to find them. One that I had found in the latest Previews was Thomas Ott's the Number 73304-23-4153-6-96-8 by Fantagraphics .
In regards to the handful of commissions that he'll be doing in New York, I missed where he'll be located (his own booth, with Uncle Sal at the ALEXROSSART.com booth or someplace else). I also wonder if he "resets" the commission list each day or is he taking all 9-12 on the first day for the whole weekend?
Keep up the good work.

How about a Simone DC Covers book? Something like JG Jones' 52 Covers. Oversized, full of great covers, sketches and notes. His Batman/Tec' cover work is killer!

Sue's p***y! Comedy gold!
Listening to him, I definitely sensed his passion for his craft.
Interesting to hear him discuss Joe Q's effect on the influx of European artists to Marvel and on the American comic book industry.
Put me down for a request for the Uncles Sal & Simone Comedy Hour.
