Wow, I'm both geeked out and feel old because they're using music from my childhood cartoon shows on late night comedy shows.

They just used the opening of Roy Fokker's theme for the John McCain interviews himself segment.

The Robotech Perfect Soundtrack is a must own piece of music. Not just for the great cartoon music, but also for those wonderful 80's casio conciertos by Michael Bradley.
Sadly, I really DO like "Lonely Soldier Boy" (the Yellow Dancer song)...maybe they'll use that sometime on Letterman.
"You're out here on your ooooowwwwnnnnn (Lone-lee soul-jaaa booyyyyyyyy)..."

Robotech Soundtrack is good, but it's just a bastardization of the original SDF Macross soundtrack.

As someone who owns both the Macross Anniversary CD collection and the Robotech Perfect Soundtrack I can say all the tired ass "Blah blah Robotech" shit is off base.
I don't want to listen to any version of My Boyfriend is a Pilot, or Zero G Love.
And with that out of the way, the orchestral cues and character themes of Macross and Robotech have nothing in common.
In summary, stick a sock in it Asspreachy.
Torchy: I'm a fan of the Lancer "We Will Win". So awesome. Had that on repeat while playing through the last level of Robotech Battlewhine on the PS2.

Shao Pai Lon. He's very messiah!
Also: Bactroid: FYI the Macross Plus OST is a Yoko Kanno work. She composed many awesome soundtracks for anime such as Cowboy Bebop and Escaflowne. If you see her name on an anime, you will at least know that it has awesome music.
